Interaction with Guests
We spend a lot of time with our guests bot at breakfast and in the evening at happy hour.I am a former tour leader so i love to help people getting the most out of there stay.
I love that it is very quiet. We have so many trees on the property and even though we are only a few minutes from downtown it is so peaceful here. In a few minutes you can walk down to the water where you can see dolphins and all kinds of birds. You will also see the Ravenel Bridge and it is so beautiful to see in the evening. Our neighborhood is also a historic site. The only black beach in Charleston was at the end of our street and also a night club and a motel where all the big names like Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and James Brown came to play. The land was given to former slaves and some of then built here but not everyone thus gave us the opportunity to buy the land and build this beautiful place.
We have public transportation within walking distance + a water taxi. There is only a bridge between us and downtown. We also have a few restaurants and attractions within walking distance.
Other Things to Note

Our stay with Wenche was wonderful. She was a great host and her home is absolutely charming. She also gives great information about what to see around Charleston and you can't really go wrong if you stay here! If you come to Charleston, her place is a must-stay. She made our stay here very memorable :)
Diane and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at home of Wenche and her husband Wyatt. Wenche, pronounced Veenka, made us feel very welcomed. Wenche even took us to the start of the Cooper River Bridge Run that saved us the pain of having to figure out where to park. Very accommodating!
The BnB is very well decorated with ornate furnishings. We stayed in the green room and we were quite comfortable. The green room and the red room each have their own private bath just outside the doorway. If you want relaxation and hospitality, then stay with Wenche and Wyatt. We definitely will stay again!
Wenche and Wyatt were the perfect hosts. They welcomed us warmly and helped us with the luggage. (We appreciated that help. ) Wenche went above and beyond with her hospitality. Her recommendations for restaurants and touring tips were very helpful. The house is beautiful and breakfast was a work of art.
We had such an amazing 3 night experience here! Wenche and Wyatt are wonderful hosts and always made us comfortable. There's a perfect balance of privacy/solace and hospitality/engaging conversation. I enjoyed our breakfast chats most of all. She made it difficult to go out and sight-see because she's created such a cozy and welcoming haven!
The breakfast was delicious. On the weekend she served eggs, yogurt, a variety of fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, and pastries, along with coffee. I'm planning on recreating it at home. She even made my daughter hot cocoa each morning:)
My biggest concern about our trip was not knowing how the mattress would be. I require a very soft bed, otherwise my whole side goes numb and I toss and turn... it catches up with me after a few nights of restless sleep and I'm not able to enjoy my vacation (usually in hotel beds). This is the ONLY time I've ever slept well without being in my own bed. The mattress was very comfortable! I was able to avoid the anxiety associated with lack of sleep...a HUGE relief for me:)
I was sad to leave, but would definitely return here again!
We loved having you. There are two places with a spotlight on them to show the house number. One on the white wall and one on the ground + on the other of the white wall is our initials + our last name: Fox.
What i will do is to take pictures of it and + on my site so people know what to look for. I have the description on how to get to the house on my site already. So hopefully this will help everybody. As far as a description we are not allowed to put up any other sign. Thank you for the feedback.
We spent three days in Charleston and our stay with Wyatt and Wenche was pleasant. The room was exactly the same as in picture. The hosts were quite welcoming and we had a really good time. We arrived pretty late on first night but they kept the door open and lights on.
Our host was very friendly and welcomed us with a glass of wine upon our arrival. Immediately, we were into discussing many topics so rapport was established from the beginning. We also hired Wenche to drive us into Charleston and pick us up on our one full day in the city. It was great not to be bothered with finding a parking place. Wenche also provides information on the best sites and restaurants. We felt totally relaxed and comfortable at Wenche's place and the room is exactly as seen in the photo that is provided on airbnb. The continental breakfast was also lovely. The Mount Pleasant area where Wenche lives is just across the bridge from Charleston but close to where the USS Yorktown is located as well as Boone Plantation. This was our first experience with airbnb. We would recommend this airbnb location.
Wenche is a perfect host. She was very helpful in planning our days in Charleston, e.g. booked a superb restaurant that we wouldn't been able to find ourselves. There is no tv in the room, which is perfect - read a book instead! The location is not in the Charleston town center, but not far away, and it's a very nice area, and she can drive you cheaper than the taxi. Best of all was the breakfast, the best yoghurt in town.

I was born in Bergen Norway but i have been moving around since i was 17. I have lived in Denmark,Sweden,Italy,Finland,Spain and now in America. I love to travel and to meet people and see other cultures. I am an expert in cakebaking and i can make the most beautiful and incredible tasting cakes. I am also a great cook. My first mother in law was italian and i learned how to do everything from pasta to meat to fish. I love to read especially in the winter. When you stay with us you will have plenty of books to read should you want to stay in and read. For over 20 years i worked as a tourleader for italien groups in Scandinavia so i have many stories to tell. I speak Norwegian, swedis, danish, italien, english + some spanish, french and german. My husband and i have been married for 16 years now and we met in Miami. I love flowers and you will have no doubt about that once you come to stay with us. I love the 50th and 60th music but also classical and italien music. We have a liberary with a tv but we don't watch much tv. We spend most of the year outside and in the winter we sit in front of the fireplace and read or talk. I love a glas of wine with good friends too.
