We spend a lot of time with our guests bot at breakfast and in the evening at happy hour.I am a former tour leader so i love to help people getting the most out of there stay.
I love that it is very quiet. We have so many trees on the property and even though we are only a few minutes from downtown it is so peaceful here. In a few minutes you can walk down to the water where you can see dolphins and all kinds of birds. You will also see the Ravanel Bridge and it is so beautidul to see in the evening. Our neighborhood is also a historic site. The only black beach in Charleston was at the end of our street and also a night vlub and a motel where all the big names like Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and James Brown came to play. The land was given to former slaves and some of then built here but not everyone thus gave us the opportunity to buy the land and build this beautiful place.
We have public transportation within walking distance + a water taxi. There is only a bridge between us and downtown. We also have a few restaurants and attractions within walking distance.
I am a former tour leader and i can also take you on a tour for a fee.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Charleston with Wenche and Wyatt. Their home is very peaceful and comfortable. They were very kind and helpful. Thank you!!
We stayed with Wenche and Wyatt this past weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The house is lovely and Wenche was a delight to talk with. She gave us really good recommendations for restaurants and things to see. The breakfast was wonderful and had a lot of variety...there was something for everyone on the table (our favorite was the pesto omelet).
This was the first time I've ever stayed in a B&B... and it was spectacular. It will be very hard for me to ever stay in a hotel again. Wenche was kind, amusing, and super helpful. We enjoyed tea with them the night they arrived, and Wenche cooked breakfast for us the next morning - it was delicious, as expected. The house was clean, comfortable, and gorgeous. There was plenty of hot water (which cannot be underrated) and the beds were wonderful.
We went to Charleston with friends, and they got engaged at the Battery while we were there. Wenche knew the plan, so she left champagne and a card in their room when we went out to dinner. We will absolutely be back - we are planning another weekend trip a few months from now, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
If you want a treat then this is the place for it!
Wenche (pronounced Vinca) and Wyatt know how to run a B&B. BUT they are so much more than that. I have stayed in B&B in 50 states & all over the world and by far this is #1. The house is decorated right out of Home Beautiful, brilliantly and tastefully done in every area. Their basic hosting ability far out ranks most places, but they don’t stop there. They show care about you, concern that your trip to their area works out well, knowledge of the area and how to best find your way around in a timely manner. Wenche is a wonderful cook providing good eats each day. Wyatt gives you a friendly hand in just about anything you need during your travels. Their familiarity with the area and climate conditions even help solve problems you didn’t know you had yet before you head out for the day. The place the house sits is a wooded area very quite but you are not far from any attraction in the Charleston area. When we later realized we wanted to continue our travels southward. Again Wenche came to the rescue and suggested places and sights in Georgia. The only down side is that you can’t take them home with you. I will remember my trip to South Carolina for a long time BUT I will recall the Foxes for their kindness and the comfortable, warm and welcoming way you feel while there, a lot longer than that. Bless them!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Fox Residence. Wenche was a warm and caring host that was very accommodating to our needs. She provided us with good advice for our daily activities and a nice breakfast every day. Our conversations with her were interesting and enjoyable. As an example of her thoughtfulness, she left orange juice and bananas for us as a departing snack when we had to leave at 5 AM to make a very early flight. If we return to Charleston SC again, we would certainly stay at her cozy house again.

Wenche and Wyatt are lovely people and wonderful hosts. Their home is immaculate. We enjoyed meeting them very much. Wenche was a great help in planning our stay in Charleston, had lots of good information.
Wenche and Wyatt are the superb hosts of this lovely B and B. They were very attentive to our needs, and offered us an unsurpassed experience in terms of comfort, sociability, travel information and restaurant recommendations. Our room was most elegant and comfortable, and the continental breakfasts were perfect with fresh fruit, varied pastries, fine cheeses and delectable coffee. We certainly enjoyed sitting on the porch, sipping wine and chatting with Wenche and Wyatt after a full day of activity, and highly recommend staying at their B and B for the best in relaxation and pampering!
