About this listing
Architectural Digest called this property one of the 10 "most architecturally intriguing Airbnb rentals" and picked as "Best of Airbnb" by The Zoe Report.
Relax by the private pool and enjoy this mid-century oasis located near the fabulous Palm Springs Uptown Design district-but really there's no reason to leave the house. This classic Alexander is updated for a modern lifestyle with reverence for Bill Krisel's original design. We call our style "earthy modern" with influence from Charles and Ray Eames California residence, and a Scandinavian-inspired palate of pale neutrals and wood textures. The kitchen features Heath tile, Terrazzo counter tops, and mountain views. An infrared gas grill is ready for your poolside BBQ. Enjoy meals from the vintage Cherner dining chairs with walls of glass overlooking the sparkling pool. The open floorplan lounge room provides relaxed viewing of the 46" LCD TV with HD satellite package. There's comfy beds in all three bedrooms with memory foam mattresses, cotton and Marimekko bedding. The master has a king and it's own bath, the middle bedroom a queen, and the third has two twins both with a shared main bath. The main bathroom is spa style with Heath tile, Terrazzo floors and custom built cabinetry made to emulate the original design. Refinished concrete floors run throughout. If you choose to heat the pool, it will be warmed for your arrival. Free WiFi is provided. Come enjoy the historic Racquet Club Estates neighborhood located near the Uptown Design District shops and restaurants. The City of Palm Springs requires a written rental agreement prior to occupancy.
The pool is private and you may even find some pool toys in the garage.

The historic Racquet Club Estates was built by the Alexander construction company and designed by architect William Krisel. It's fun to take a walk and look at the architecture and there is even a nice park one block over. The former library across the street from it is the holiday residence of cult actor Udo Kier.
The free shuttle, the Palm Springs "Buzz" runs from the Riviera Hotel which is about a 15 minute walk but it's a less than 15 minute drive to get anywhere around town.
Two night minimum. Three night minimum on most holidays.
Holiday premium may apply. Monthly rates are available.
$40 daily pool heating charge (optional)
$50 per dog fee

This place was wonderful! It was beautiful and really made us feel like we were right at home. The house has everything you need for a perfect getaway. It was easy to get to grocery stores, restaurants, and more. The host made check in and check out as simple as can be. We loved our trip and hope to go back again.
My daughters and I had a wonderful time . The house is even better in real life. The location is great and convenient for day trips(we went to Joshua Tree for sunset and stargazing). The pool and mtn views can be beat. We would def come back!
When we arrived the house was not quite as it looked in the pictures, there was dirty linen, rotting fruit and flies buzzing around and we realised it had not been cleaned since the last guests. We contacted Joann and she realised that the cleaners must have made a mix-up and arranged for them to come round within the hour and, by 5:30pm, the place looked sparkling and we could relax. By way of apology, the owner granted us $50 credit. The pool was glorious and the suggestions for things to do were very helpful. The aircon was great (essential in August in Palm Springs) and the games available were great.
Our experience in Joann's home was amazing. The rooms were beautiful as was the living room and kitchen. I loved the little touches such as leaving pool towels on each bed for all the guests to use to leaving a detailed manual. I would definitely rent Joann's house again. It was a perfect place to lounge around the pool and enjoy the beautiful warm Palm Springs weather. Thank you for your detailed instructions of everything prior to my arrival and thank you for answering my few questions I had via text message.
This place is immense and so cool! The property was as described and we really enjoyed the facilities that were provided. Nothing better than having a BBQ by the pool. The bed was extremely comfortable!
The home was just as advertised with a lovely pool and great kitchen setup. We made use of the grill to make ourselves some corn, which was a nice Saturday afternoon lunch. Pool towels were laid out on each bed, and everything was clean and easy to find when we needed it. The instructions for everything were clear as well, and we didn't have any trouble.
Since it rained for one of our days there, we tried to download and watch some movies, but the internet was very slow (~1.5 Mbps). Joann says that's as fast as it comes in Palm Springs, but it was slower than even our phones.
Wonderful time - wonderful house - great location. The listing was everything you explained it as. Thank you for the great hopsitality.

About the Host, Joann
I live in Los Angeles but spend as much time as I can escaping to the desert. It satisfies my interest in architecture and design as well as my appreciation of a good book and a poolside chaise longue.
