This is a beautiful property and the hosts are completely charming. We received an impromptu lesson in cooking artichokes and some great advice on parking and transport in nearby towns. As gorgeous as this place is, though, access is steep. Riccardo will happily help with luggage but if you have any issues with mobility, this is not for you.
We were greeted warmly on arrival by Ricardo. He is a lovely man happy to be of assistance when required but also happy to remain in the background at other times.
Il Borghetto di Bazzano / Stalla is exactly as described in the listing or perhaps even better. Beautifully finished & equipped with everything you could need and with a view to die for.
Close enough to Spoleto for shopping and sightseeing yet just far enough away to be able to forget where you are. Spoleto is large and sprawling and not our favourite Umbrian Town. We have friends currently residing there and did our sightseeing with them. We personally prefer the smaller Umbrian gems like Bevagna, Trevi, Spello and Montefalco for example for a more personal less busy experience.
We had a fantastic time at Il Borgehetto di Bazzano. Rita's instructions to get there were perfect and all of Ricardo's help and advice was so appreciated. Ricardo helped us book some accommodation in Venice that we would not have picked ourselves but it was on of the highlights of the trip. Thankyou so much. We hope that one day we can come back (hopefulloy with better Italian!)

Riccardo and I were borrn in Roma, where we lived and worked until a couple of years ago. We had the wish of spending part of our time in a quiet country village. In 2001 we visited the "Borghetto" when it wasn't yet the Borghetto of today. The property, abandoned for several years, was in very bad conditions. The water entered trough the roof of the house and it was at risk to break down.... but it had for us the attraction that only old mansions can have, as they tells us many things about happiness and sorrow preserved among their walls. We started a restoration of the property, conducted by qualified architects. The results was very good, as you can see in the pictures. Now, we spend most of our time in this wonderful historical Umbrian area. We can enjoy our preferred hobbies (reading, listening music, painting, biking, doing walking in open air), in a very slow rithm of life. Frequently, friends come and visit us, but we enjoy so much receiving hosts coming from every country, sharing with them the views and the unique beauties of umbrian landscapes and cities.
