About this listing
4 bedroom fully equipped townhouse in the heart of downtown Memphis, walking distance from city attractions, restaurants, shops, and nightlife.
The best thing about this two-level home is the LARGE OPEN LIVING AREA with 25 ft ceilings and beautiful crown moldings from 1910s.
A full kitchen with Stainless Steel refrigerator and microwave.
4 Bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with double vanity sinks.
One of the largest apartments in Downtown at 2,900 sq ft.
The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
Located in the heart of the Downtown Neighborhood – near the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping – our apartments are the ideal home base for exploring the city. Living in a 19-story skyscraper allows a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. Walk outside and explore the rich, dense neighborhood. Fine dining is offered within blocks at renowned restaurants such as Rendezvous!, The Majestic Grille, or Flights. Enjoy a pint at the neighborhood Irish pub, The Brass Door, or make the three-minute drive to Beale Street and relish in its famous bars such as Silky O’Sullivans, Alfred’s, or Bardog Tavern. You could also take the trolley to Beale St, to the Pyramid, or around the downtown area, since there is a trolley stop a block away.
The apartments provide a homey feel with a luxurious touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view. Units come with a kitchen, fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, pots/pans, and dishes. The Management office on the first floor is ready to assist you during business hours, and, as many of my residents already know, I am always just a phone call away. A laundry room with coin-operated machines and a gym on the top floor are easily accessible through the three elevators.
There are public metered spots all around the building. Since parking is not always available, we provide parking passes for a nearby parking garage (1 block away) at the price of $10/day. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.
Situated at an unbeatable location with competitive pricing, our apartments are a click away from becoming your future home or weekend getaway. Let yourself be inspired by the view and invigorated by the bustling and lively neighborhood. Rest up in our comfortable abodes and make sure to spend enough time exploring the giant playground that is the City of Memphis. Interaction with Guests
Due to the increased interest in my apartments, I have hired on additional staff to help ensure a pleasant stay for my guests. I travel often, so I have a front desk staff with keys to all of my units so that you can check in at any time of the day with ease. The front desk also has access to the apartment maintenance and housekeeping crews between 9a and 9p daily. When I am in town, I try my best to meet and interact with all of the guests who stay in my apartments. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and host you!
Located in the heart of downtown Memphis, you will be walking distance from most attractions, restaurants, live music, and beautiful parks.
Almost everything worth seeing is within walking distance of our building. The world famous Beale Street is a short 7-8 minute walk away.
Uber is very active in Memphis. This is a great option for shopping and outings further away!
On Main Street, there is a trolley that can take you to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops at South Main (or anywhere along Main that you would like to go!).
There is also a public transit bus stop on our corner and the city's cabs will also provide transportation from here!

This building houses many other residents. Please be courteous and keep excessive noise to a minimum throughout your stay.
Smoking is not permitted in any of my airbnb apartments. Evidence of smoking, candles, or incense will incur a fee for cleaning.
The most surprising apartment we could imagine! Very clean and nice decorated, the mosaics and the stools on the ceiling were just historic and wonderful, the beds and rooms were huge and comfortable.
Fantastic place, easy to find, exactly as described. Thanks for a great visit we will see you next year.
It was a great place to stay for a larger group (10). Location is fantastic. Really nice high ceilings and nice furniture. One downside was that it got pretty hot especially during the day and the AC is not very strong. Also bring your own kitchen stuff if you want to cook (e.g. olive oil).
While the home was spacious, it's tired, torn, and tattered. The staff of the hotel was friendly and accommodating. Part of a strange hotel/residences, we never really felt clean or safe in the neighborhood. The front door had obviously been kicked in at some point and didn't close properly. Furniture was stained and ripped. It just needs a ton of updating. I never met or talked to our host Sardor. Much like staying at a 2 star or less hotel in a rough part of town.
The listing was accurate and the place was great. The location was excellent, showers had plenty of hot water and great AC.
Sardor would always respond to our question quickly.... It is in a perfect location to discover memphis... It is a little different from what's depicted in the photos.... But overall a great place to stay
The building is lovely and in an awesome location within walking distance of shops, sights and restaurants. The unit was also nice but could definitely use updated furniture and carpet replacement. Would visit again!

About the Host, Sardor
I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 5 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.
UPDATE: Due to the increased traffic, I hired additional help to make the check-in process more convenient for my guests. The lobby now has a staffed Front Desk, where you will be able to get any assistance, should you need it (24/7). I hope to see you while you're in Memphis, but I do travel a lot and sometimes I miss out on meeting my guests personally. I hope you have a wonderful stay at The Exchange and please don't hesitate to contact me via Airbnb should you need anything.
