About this listing

The space

Located in South Kona, this Kona Paradise home is a wonderful place to come relax, cook a nice meal and watch the sunset on our enclosed covered lanai. Enjoy our very peaceful 2 bd/2ba home. Pebble Beach is just a short drive down the hill where one can swim and snorkel as well as hike the King's Trail along the coast. Hookena Beach is just 5 miles north and is often the location where the dolphins come to play. We are about a 45 minute drive through beautiful coffee farm lands to the town of Kailua-Kona. Volcanoes National Park and Green Sands Beach is about an 1 hr to 1.5 hours south.
The house has a large flat screen TV with a netflix account for movie watching. Private Bathroom and King size bed in Master bedroom with views of the ocean from the lanai. Kitchen comes equipped with the Ninja blender ( great for making smoothies or mango margaritas!!)
What else can I say except that this house is truly a wonderful place to relax.

Guest access

You will have access to the entire house for yourself. House is located at dead end street with no other houses to the right or in front. Very quiet and peaceful location.

Interaction with guests

We try our best to welcome guests from the beginning in order to show details regarding the house. Depending on length of stay, we also make an effort to furfill the drinking water bottles.

Other things to note

The closest grocery store is about 20 minutes north in the heart of Captain Cook called Choicemart. Wonderful selection of local fresh food. Every Sunday morning till 2pm, is a wonderful farmers market located just one block north of Choicemart. Also, located about one mile south on the main highway from the top of Kona paradise subdivision is a nice fruit stand situated on left side of road. Nice selection with good prices.

Number one house rule is to relax and enjoy!
Do not drink tap water- okay for taking showers or brushing teeth. We are on water catchment. We provide drinking water in bottles in kitchen. Since we are dependent on the rain for water, we ask guests to be mindful of water use. Also, electricity comes at a very high price so we also ask guests to be mindful of this too. We have a clothes line under house for hang drying clothes.
Prefer for furniture to not be moved as well as no large parties.

Delphine's father Guy was waiting for us when we arrived on a dark, rainy night. He gave us a warm welcome and entertained us with amusing, informative tales and facts about himself and the Big Island. The house was situated on a hill south of Captain Cook on the southwest side of the island. It overlooked the Pacific Ocean, giving us an absolutely beautiful sunset and comfortable breeze on the wrap-around balcony. It was ideally located for exploration of the west and south coasts: one hour from the Kona International Airport and 1.5 hours from the Volcanoes National Park. The rooms were clean, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the living room was comfortable with a cable TV. Equipments for various water sports were available. It was a wonderful stay for our family of four. It is highly recommended.

This was perfect, exactly what we expected and more. Guy was such a fantastic host. Lots of equipment for snorkeling available, with so many great suggestions. We would recommend this place in a heart beat, let alone we will likely book this place again. About 10-20mins from activities and stores, but we didn't mind. Merci Guy a bientot

What a special and wonderful place! We were there for 2 nights, visiting with our older parents. Guy, the welcoming, friendly and talkative host, waited for us in person, to ensure we got well into the house and understood how to use the many amenities (everything from phone and wireless to buggy-boards, snorkel gear and canoes! When we woke up the next morning, the view did not disappoint, absolutely amazing over the totally blue sea. All meals could be eaten outside either on the open long balcony or on the covered porch behind mosquito netting. Expect the house to have a lot of charm, stuff everywhere, various carpets, blankets, pillows and decorations - but cozy and everything you need. The steep terrain made it difficult for the older folks but it never became a problem. Only issue was the distance to grocery shopping - we knew and did it before we arrived. We all agree that we would like to come back soon and spend some more days in this special place!

I'm originally from Paris, France but grew up in Washington State where I learned to appreciate the beautiful outdoors. Now I live on the Big Island of Hawaii which is an amazing place to enjoy what nature has to offer. I love to hike, swim, cook, dance, yoga and just simply relax with a glass of rose wine in my hand and watch the sunsets!
