Hillside Views, Poolside Relaxation

Apartment - Private room · Ventura Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 91364, United States

The Space

I live in a fully furnished, clean and comfortable two bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor of a quiet complex that sits on a hill.

The apartment is easily accessible by elevator or stairs. There's a furnished patio (grill included) with amazing views that overlook the city of Woodland Hills and mountains in the distance.

Your room faces the hillside and gets a lot of sunlight. It has a closet, dressers, and a queen size bed that comfortably sleeps two (linens included). A private bathroom is attached, with towels and basic toiletries.

Guest Access

The community itself has two swimming pools, sun decks, two hot tubs, a gym, four BBQ grills, and even a fireplace that would all be available for you.

I will make a convenient covered/garage parking spot available for you.

In the apartment and common areas:
- Directv TV with HD programming and an HD DVR
- Wifi enabled internet access
- Washer/Dryer (hidden in the patio)
- The kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans/plates and all the appliances you'll need.

You're welcome to make yourself at home; if there's anything else you need, just ask.

Interaction with Guests

When you arrive I'll give you a little tour of the apartment and show you where everything is.

If you have time, we'll also walk around the community and I'll show you how to get to the pools, gym, hot tubs etc.

After that, its pretty much up to you :). I am happy to chat and talk about the area, or things to do or not.

The Neighborhood

Grocery stores and restaurants are accessible within 5-10 minutes walking distance. About a 5 minute drive away is the Westfield Topanga Mall, an excellent shopping center with a 3D IMAX movie theater, and also the Warner Center Offices.
The 101 interstate is just minutes away.

If you bring your tennis rackets, the public courts are about a mile away. Also within a mile are tons of hiking and mountain biking trails that can take you all the way to Santa Monica beach (These trails a pretty long and are for advanced hikers or bikers only). There is access from within the community to a small hill on the south side which offers a small hike, but spectacular 360 deg views of the San Fernando Valley. Practice your Tai Chi there, or just enjoy sun rises and sun sets.
A few miles away are a couple of public golf courses, full size and 9 hole par 3s, near Balboa Park. The park itself has a man made pond with ducks, paddle boats and bike rentals. Across from the park are the Japanese Gardens, and a landing strip for flying your R/C helicopters and/or fixed wing planes.

Woodland Hills is a quiet suburb outside of Los Angeles, which itself is about 30 minutes away. There's tons to do around here, from great hiking in Topanga Canyon, beaches in Malibu and Santa Monica, and the exciting LA nightlife.

Getting around

It's best to have a car.

While there is a Bus line (150) directly outside the community on Ventura Blvd, as with all of Los Angeles' public transit it is slow and tiresome.

  • Kunal is a delight to stay with. Not only is he a pleasure to talk to, he's an impeccable host and very easy going. He made my check in a breeze, was readily available during my stay in the event that I needed to contact him, and he quickly addressed any issue I had during my stay, no matter how small. The room, as well as the entire apartment, is extremely comfortable and inviting and very clean. More like staying in a luxury hotel than an apartment, but it still felt like home. The apartment complex is very nice, up to date, and has friendly tenants (from my experiences). I certainly enjoyed my week-long stay there when I had an issue with a flatmate and needed a place short-notice - my only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time there during the day, and was out and about for work so often! If I ever need a place to stay in LA I am definitely going to come back to Kunal's. I highly recommended it to anyone looking in Woodland Hills/Calabasas, or any time you're in Los Angeles if you don't mind a little extra drive (and if you're living here, or even just visiting, you should get used to it!). Definitely stay here - you won't be disappointed!

  • Perfect place to rest after a busy day in Los Angeles. Kunal was clean, neat, and gave us our space. Great to talk to and always helpful with any questions or suggestions. The room was perfect and comfy with a sense of privacy. Beautiful views of the surround areas and the apartment is located in a beautiful private the community. I'd definitely stay there again if needed, but most important he helped us feel relieved after moving to such a big city. Thank you Kunal, hope you enjoyed the Chipotle Gift card!

  • I didn't get a chance to meet Kunal (he was away on business), but I enjoyed staying at his apartment. I immediately felt at home. It was very clean, comfortable and conveniently located. The bed was comfortable, and I didn't hear the neighbors at night. Having a private bath was also nice. Lots of great amenities on site and nearby restaurants. Kunal clearly communicated where to park and how to find his place. Great communication all around. I look forward to staying here again when in town on business. Thanks again, Kunal. I hope we get to meet next time!

He was not home the first days of our stay - so he showed me the apt and we got our keys a couple of days before. We had our own parking spot and the pool area was lovely! I can highly recommend to stay at Kunals.

About
I have lived in and around Los Angeles for the past 9 years, after I moved to the US from India. Its been an amazing time, I have learnt, grown and decided that am not leaving! I love my day job where I help translate Business Speak to Software Engineering and vice versa. Figuring out business problems, and providing software solutions to alleviate them is another way to describe what it is that I do everyday. While one does not have to leave Los Angeles, to experience natural beauty, the ocean, the ski slopes, ethnically diverse foods and such, over the past couple of years, I have traveled domestically and internationally to Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Fiji, Ireland, Amsterdam, Munich, Vienna and Barcelona. Staying active, and healthy is fun and I prefer to stay that way with fun activities like hiking, kayaking, swimming, skiing, motorcycle riding and many many more opportunities that LA has to offer. It does help that I love food and drink and I am always up to try a new place to eat, or a home brew of beer.
