We had a wonderful couple of nights in Galway at Sheila's place, an absolutely brilliant location within walking distance of the Latin Quarter, and hosted by herself and her sister - Mary - both of whom made us feel so much at home.
Definitely planning a return visit, couldn't recommend it highly enough.
My friend and I stayed with Sheila for five days and had the most wonderful Irish experience. Our rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and Sheila made us feel like we were visiting friends. Her location is very convenient for walking around Galway city and Sheila is very helpful in giving recommendations and directions. We were able to walk everywhere! I would strongly recommend River's Edge as a place to stay for anyone wishing to have a relaxed safe and friendly experience of the city of Galway
Sheila is an incredibly welcoming and wonderful host. She made me feel at home and was so kind and accommodating. Her home is so lovely and very comfortable. The location is great, five minutes walk to the main area of the town and is next to a beautiful lake. I would love to stay with her again, it was very clean and comfortable. Sheila is amazing!
Sheila made us feel very welcome and at home in her charming house which is only a 5min walk into the city centre. She was very generous with her home opening up lounge/kitchen and our bedroom was very comfortable. My fiancee and I are both vegan and Sheila went out of her way to accommodate us with homemade almond milk, fresh vegan bread from the market and a selection of organic nut butters for breakfast! We will be back.

About the Host, Sheila
Hi, I’m Sheila and I was born in this house, built by my great grandfather in 1887. Though I have a degree in Textile Design and teach art, my passion is
ecology/environment. I am co-founder of Green Sod Ireland, working to establish WildAcres across Ireland to create safe habitats, vital for biodiversity. I am vegetarian, an animal lover and though I’ve always had dogs I how have two rescued cats. I love the Visual Arts, reading and good food…… I’m easy-going and enjoy meeting new people, so looking forward to welcoming you to Galway. It’s a lovely city, more like a small town, full of culture and craic.
