SPACIOUS ROOM AVAILABLE IN AMAZING EAST VILLAGE APARTMENT

The apartment is among the best available in the East Village. It’s a second-floor walk up with a fire escape off of one room, a large kitchen, spacious living room, large back deck with bbq, wi-fi internet, pressed-tin ceilings, amazing roof access, etc. It has a very homey but spacious feeling with high ceilings, wood floors, exposed brick, etc.
The access to grocery stores, laundry, restaurants, bars, theaters, liquor store, cinema, Tompkins Square Park, etc, is pretty unbeatable. In general, the rooms, location, and size of the apartment make it a pretty desirable package. It is close to both the F train (2nd Avenue) and the 6 Train (Astor Place).

The room that is available is the largest of the three rooms. It has a private fire escape off of the room, full-sized bed and is large and spacious.
The inhabitants of the apartment are an American photographer, an American male who works for Doctors without Borders (me) and an American woman who manages a private art collection. The house has a warm, inviting feel and we are looking for good people to share it with!

  • Mike is a perfect host, he communicates well and is super friendly. The flat is spacious with a cute outside area and is in a good location for exploring the East Village, Lower East Side & Soho on foot.... so many great bars, restaurants and shops nearby. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Mike is a great host and a lovely guy. He was very nice and happy to help with any questions I had, or recommend nice restaurants or bars. I took his room, so he stayed somewhere else while I was there, but he kept in contact for any questions I had.
The apartment is in a great location - very close to the subway as well as grocery stores, cafes, restaurants and just about anything you could ever need!
It is a great apartment and very unique. Very large and open plan which is hard to come by in the East Village. The outdoor area is great too, the weather was cold while I stayed there but I can imagine it would come in very handy in summer.
The flatmates that live in the apartment are lovely as well, they were in and out quite a bit as they live busy lives, but went out of their way to make me feel welcome and at home.
    I definitely recommend staying here!

Tutto meraviglioso!

  • The photos provided don’t do the apartment justice because it is so much nicer in person.

Although the apartment was very busy a very large majority of the time, with different people being there at different times on different days, it is well worth it. I would like to add that this would have gone unnoticed if I hadn’t decided to sleep in until a ridiculous time almost everyday.

I appreciated having an entire dresser to put my things in because my stay was a bit lengthy. It was also nice having a desk because it allowed me to do work and get organized in planning my day. The back terrace was very nice in the evenings.

The apartment's location is convenient in that it is walking distance to the subway. There are many great coffee shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. Everything is as described.

My only complaint at the beginning of my two week stay was that I was there in the Summer and there was no air conditioner. However, Mike had an ingenious fan system set up that ventilates the air enough to make the room comfortable and this was not a huge issue.

Mike was there on the first and last day of my stay, and I took over his room for the time he was gone. He and his roommates Casey & Nicole are busy people (as most successful people normally are) but still found time to make me feel welcome and were helpful in answering any questions I had and offered great suggestions on days when I didn’t have any ideas about what to do with myself in the city. They were very kind.

I’d love to stay here again in the future.

About
I work abroad often but really like the time I spend in the East Village/Alphabet City. This is the best location in the whole city (in my opinion!) Here is a link to my roommates much more detailed listing of this apartment. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16821
