I am a single woman in my 30's, currently working at Sheffield University. I sing in a choir and enjoy crafts, and playing board games. I also have a cat called Frosty who generally keeps himself to himself but he usually appears briefly to give new guests a good sniff!
I am happy to host anyone who is here for work trips (lecturers, conference speakers, musicians, comedians, actors, performers etc) or travelling to Sheffield for pleasure (e.g. for Doc/Fest, Tramlines, Pride etc).
Please note that the room is only available to women. LGBT* women and couples are very welcome.
I also ask that guests please remember that this is my home, not a hotel, and to treat it accordingly. If you have any questions or specific requirements please ask me before you book so I can make sure that we're both happy with the arrangement.
Guest get their own room (pictured) and access to the garden, bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining room, which are all shared with me.
Interaction with Guests
I am happy to leave the level of interaction up to my guests. I'm happy to chat socially over a cup of tea, and I'm always on hand if you have any questions about your stay. Guests are also very welcome to keep themselves to themselves and I aim to be as unintrusive as possible.
The neighbourhood is lovely, I have friendly neighbours and it's pretty quiet in the evenings so you are unlikely to be disturbed if you want to relax or get a good night's sleep.
Buses into town stop just at the end of my road, there's also a tram stop about 5 minutes walk away which will take you into town, the train station, Meadowhall and elsewhere.
By bus, the University is about 10-15 minutes away, the town centre around 20 minutes and the train station / Showroom cinema are approximately 25 minutes away.
There is on-street parking, no permit required, but the spaces can fill up quickly after about 6pm. Alternative free parking is available on some of the neighbouring streets if you need to arrive later.
