Luca was a great host and very welcoming. The place was nice, tidy and clean. We had a great stay and got to see the sights we wanted to as the location was fantastic!
Great place and host, my flight was delayed a bit and Luca waited for me even after the agreed time. Everything worked as the combined and had a great stay in Rome.
Right from the first day our host gave us a bad experience. We had both agreed with the host that he would wait for us in the apartment, and open up for us once we arrived.
However the experience was much different than that since he gave us the wrong address. He never explained why he changed the address for the apartment than what was listed at airbnb, and his phone number on this site did not work either. We were both confused and stressed out while trying to reach destination on time as none of the descriptions matched up.
In the end luckily his girlfriend came out to meet us. The unknown new location was luckily not too far from there, but the host should tell you that before you meet. The last time I was in touch with him was just the night before our meeting ,and he misled us to believe that he would meet us, and that the phone number on this website was his. Nothing was like it should have been.
However this was not the worst part of the stay. The girlfriend who brought us into the flat told us that we have to be away from the apartment during 5PM to 8PM.
To our confusion we had to ask why!
She came up with a story involving a previous person who had used their apartment that had caused some problems, and made the people living in the same building upset. So the neighbors were not supposed to know that our hosts were renting out a room to us. Between those hours they were supposedly having a meeting with the neightbours.
Later in the day we did not return until around 8PM; trying to respect their wishes. However by the time we got there, the meeting was still not done in the building by and the host had yet to have a visit by a specific person. Due to that we had to be quiet in the room for an hour and pretend like we did not exist.
It is very odd to pay for such an accommodation, and at the same time be told to lie and hide yourself. What kind of decency is this type of behaviour when you are paying lot for it while having traveled a long way. It is not our responsibility to take care of their problems with their neightbours.
We were also told to use the back door every time we left the apartment. Again what they hell are they thinking if they expect their payed visitors to lie for them and pretend like they dont live there?
Also a lot of the times the sink in the kitchen was filled with dirty dishes, and inside the oven they left a lasagna that was starting to smell bad (for 3 days or more!). It could take a day or two before they cleaned up after themselves.
Overall I recommend you to stay away from this place!
Luca was very nice! His friend Alex gave us the keys the firat day. The appartment is juste beside the metro station pyramide, si it's very simple to get downtown! The room is quiet and fresh!
I never met Luca at all, he sent someone else to meet me, who was very late. I was quite concerned. The area was ok, near the Metro, but not as near in walking distance to central Rome as the site led me to believe.
Even though we never got to meet Luca, his friend Alex hosted us brilliantly.
Bizarre house rules. Otherwise very convenient location just next to ostensie station.
Really great place. Lucas was really nice, and was a great person to ask questions to about where to eat and how to get places. The location is RIGHT NEXT TO the metro which is really great, and yet you can still walk to the Colosseum in 20 minutes. It's a straight shot to there and all on one major road. The toilet is a little funky, aka you can't flush it, but you just fill it up with water with a bowl provided and somehow gravity does the rest of the job and so it still flushes, just not in the modern way. It's so worth it to stay here. We are glad we stayed here.
I have to be honest: Luca is really a very nice person- I saw him 5 minutes only, had no chance to ask- about wi-fi, grocery shop, etc...
appartment is 20minutes walk distance from Collosseum - 5 minutes from the underground station, 5 minutes from the train station- perfect! bit old, not so super clean but ok, really.all you need is there. simple life is ok:)
