Nearby are mineralized hot/cold springs used by Native people to treat “afflictions.” Very restorative. You may likely notice a healing sulfur scent.
Be assured the water has been tested & is pristine. Wifi, steam shower, tub, modern appliances, woodstove, hiking, SUP, Solarium! VIEWS!

Great location! It was nice to stay outside of town and connect with nature but still be a short drive away.

Jim's place was beautiful, quiet and restorative. If you're looking for a place to stay near Ashland but with the solitude and space of a rural setting this is a great fit!

It was a beautiful location with a friendly host and very covenant to mt. Ashland and emigrant lake. A lovely welcome gift of local wine and cheese and crackers truly put us in the mood to unwind and enjoy. We enjoyed the outdoor house kitty who loved to be loved. The layout of t…

Juluana ~ It surprises me with the many times I made myself available for questions that you did not contact me about the beds. Our description of the beds is fully accurate in our listing. The second bedroom has a brand new top-of-the-line sofa bed that is fully made up with fresh linens, pillows, blankets… All that guests would need and desire. As for the water, our listing states in two different places that the water is volcanic in source and can have a scent, however has been tested repeatedly and is pristine. The home owner takes showers consistently, although we can imagine it might be different for those who are not used to it and that is why we share this so clearly in our description.

Everything at the house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. There were multiple areas where we could sit and talk or relax. The views were amazing and there were lots of animals to observe - osprey, deer, rabbits, etc. The water smelled very sulfury which we didn't expect but…

Dear Donna ~ I wonder how you missed the two different locations in our Description where we share that the water has a volcanic source and that brings a scent some may not be used to. However it has been tested multiple times and found to be pristine. Given the numerous times you've expressed your love of the house, you must've become used to it very quickly! Peace to you ~ Alaya

Response from Jim:
The entire home is meticulously and thoroughly professionally cleaned just hours before every guest arrival. This is country living and when windows are open and doors, there can be entry of a few insects here and there... nothing invasive. Actually it is my experience this is true for any living space. In this majestic nature scape where we are located, the magnificence is filled with life. We've never found this to be intrusive in any way for our guests. It sparkles with freshness and cleanliness.

We had a wonderful time staying at Jim's beautiful home on Emigrant Lake. The house is gorgeously designed with floor to ceiling windows and wraparound decks with stunning views of the lake and rolling hills. The combined dining, living, and kitchen is very spacious and inviting…

Anna ~ Glad you enjoyed the architecture. It is magnificent. I wish you had mentioned something about the second bedroom temp. I could have brought you a fan. We usually keep the blinds down to keep normal temps down in the afternoon sun, although the time of your stay it was extraordinarily hot beyond usual (109). Also I'm glad you overcame your initial resistance to the water. We do share in the house description that the water source is volcanic in this area and although there can be a sulfur~like aroma that some people are not used to, it has been repeatedly tested and is pristine. The home owner uses it several times a day! Happy Trails to you Anna. Take good care.
