This is a red-brick, period house very close to the city centre, with public transport 30 seconds away! There are museums, art galleries and parks within walking distance and the immediate community is lively and interesting.
Double bedroom in redbrick terraced house in the quiet area of Kilmainham with a shared bathroom.
I am a painter and have a lot of art hanging on the walls. Many of my neighbours are artists and musicians and there is a well-known art night in a local pub next to the National Museum of Modern Art - it's held on the first Monday of every month.
The National Museum of Decorative Arts and History, Kilmainham Gaol Museum and the Guinness Storehouse are also close by - as are all the major art galleries, museums and parks in the city centre (3km). Public transport is practically on the doorstep and you can either walk to the centre (25 minutes) or take a bus (10 minutes) or Luas Tram (15 minutes).
The Phoenix Park is 1.5k from the house and is the largest public park in Europe with beautiful trees and wildlife.
Guests can use the basics in the kitchen- olive oil, herbs, etc - so there is no need to buy any of these.
Interaction with Guests
I have enjoyed having all the guests who have stayed - they have all been exceptionally nice people.
It's a nice, mixed neighbourhood with families, singles, old and young and I have a lot of friends living around here.
Public transport is very convenient.
The room is for rent to not more than 2 people and the main requirement is that they will be security conscious and relatively tidy.
Anne was a really great host - welcoming, helpful and very caring! Not only did she have good recommendations on where to go in town, but also time to sit down for a little chat which I really enjoyed. The house itself is lovely and in a great location, as public transport was really good and the Phoenix Park just a little walk away. I would totally recommend staying at Anne's!
Anne is a very nice and fliendly person. She makes us feel at home. She´s the perfect host if would like to enjoy your stay in Dublin City.
The house is near the city center. The room very confortable. Anne helps us in each moment and show us the most interesting things to visit in the city.
It was a wonderful way to begin and end our enjoyable mother-daughter trip to Ireland. Anne's home is in a great location for exploring Dublin. She is very hospitable and helpful and we were very comfortable in her charming house.
A great host for a cosy room! Thanks to Anne we had a lovely stay in Dublin, it was very good! She made us feel very confortable and she's so welcoming, it was perfect!
Thank you again Anne!
Un accueil parfait ainsi qu'une disponibilité des plus chaleureuses font de cet endroit un endroit à recommander si vous souhaitez passer une ou plusieurs nuits à Dublin!
Anne was a great host and very helpful. She provided us with great directions to catch the tram to her house from the train station and recommended a restaurant close by for us to try and even called to reserve us a table. We were only there for one night but had a great stay! Some of the best breakfast toast around.
I live in Kilmainham, very close to Dublin city centre in a period redbrick house which is very typical. It's close to museums, parks and transport. I love travelling especially to Spain and Italy - I prefer culture to beach holidays and I also love skiing and walking holidays. I often have friends and family stay so I'm used to visitors and quite relaxed about sharing my home. I am an artist and an acupuncturist - an odd mix but I get to work from home and decide how I spend my time!
