About This Listing
Beautiful old apartment with an extra large bedroom. Old tiles on the floor, large windows, and a beautiful veranda. The bedroom has a mirror, closet space, a big desk and a king sized bed or two double beds.
The flat is located just off the main street on a long stairwell in the beautiful old part of Jabal Amman. Right next to Books@Cafe and the Royal Film Commission. The area is filled with cafes and watering holes, with easy access to the downtown areas and popular tourist sites.
We've recently moved upstairs, so you may have the whole place to yourself or share the flat with another guest. We can also help you figure out the best way to spend your time in Jordan. If you want, you can help in the garden, where we raise some of our own food.
There is high speed internet, friendly neighbors and a comfortable environment in the house. We like to have fun, but at the same time stay tidy and clean. More often than not, we have dinner parties and people over. As they say, mi casa es su casa.
Come enjoy tea/coffee on the veranda.
The house is a calm place where coffee and tea is served regularly. Often times neighbors and friends join for a drink, but generally its a quiet and respectful neighborhood and home. Sometimes we get a bit crazy and discussions often go late into the evening, but we haven't had a problem yet.
We expect that you keep the place generally clean, as clean as we do. Guests are welcome to the fridge and contents of it, and anything else they can find in the kitchen. If you like your drink, we just ask that you replace what you drink.
The bathroom is shared with the everyone, so just keep it tidy and know that others will be using the bathroom as well. Common courtesy.
Smoking is NOT allowed inside. The veranda is plenty large and comfortable to smoke on.
This is a perfectly located studio with a lovely view. The arrival went well, I was welcomed by Mazen (a realtive of Ramsey) who is the owner of the apartment. Mazen was very helpful during my stay whenever there was an issue.
We didn't end up staying in this listing because two weeks before our reservation was to begin, Ramsey told us it was no longer available. He offered us another apartment not too far away. Unfortunately, it was not very clean and we quickly discovered there were bugs, and moved out after the first couple weeks when we could find a new place.
We had a great time at Ramsey's place in Amman. Its perfectly located between the dowtown and rainbow street which are both awesome and completely unique places to grab coffee, food, wander etc. The room is spacious and gets tons of light and looks onto a nice big balcony. Fully equip kitchen and bathroom were a bonus. It snowed pretty heavily and was seriously cold while we where in Amman but Ramsey and his wife were kind enough to check on us and make sure we were staying warm, giving us extra blankets and helping us get out heater started. We ran into a glitch in travel plans and had to extend our stay for 2 weeks, though Ramsey (understandably) couldn't accommodate us he was instrumental in helping us find other accommodation, in our budget VERY last minute. Wonder people, great room, amazing country.
Ramsey's place is ideally located for exploring all Amman has to offer, and the terrace is simply fantastic for a morning coffee or a drink in the evening. He is kind and helpful, and the house itself is spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended.
The room in the pictures was not available but I was offered a smaller room in the flat, for a higher price. Overall the location of the flat was excellent and Ramsey was friendly and responded to questions very quickly. He was also helpful in organising a cab from the airport, although this cost 30JD not 25JD as had been quoted. The room was OK for a couple of days but not great and there were often water shortages in the bathroom.
Ramsey is a great host and the place is nice, centrally located with a breathtaking view! I heartily recommend staying here if one is looking for a perfect basis to discover Amman
