The Space

This COZY, CLEAN, SPACIOUS, and VERY QUIET LOFT like studio is located in a quiet TREE LINED block in the heart of the EAST VILLAGE. ELEVATOR BUILDING. The ENTIRE apartment is yours, this is NOT SHARED.

The apartment comes FULLY EQUIPPED with a QUEEN SIZED extra comfortable bed, FINE LINEN and TOWELS, flat screen TV and WIFI internet. SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, and SOAP are always provided. The separate kitchen has everything needed for cooking. Pots and pans, silverware, wine glasses, etc...

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
The neighborhood is AMAZING! The TRENDY EAST VILLAGE has uncountable great restaurants, boutiques, thrift shops, flee market, farmers market and much more to offer. Nearby is Tompkins Square Park, a great place to experience the everyday life of a New Yorker. You'll find playgrounds, a big dog run, music and dancing, and many hosted events where you can usually find something interesting on the weekends. Saturday there is a farmers market with some good home grown vegetables and organic products. The East River Park is only a 10 minute walk from your doorstep. This 57-acre park boasts amazing views of the East River, as well as an amphitheater, playgrounds, gardens, sports fields and courts, walking and bike paths.

CONVENIENTLY LOCATED:
On the corner of the apartment there is a 24 hour grocery and a gourmet market with a countless amount of options for food and beverages. There are 2 crosstown buses right on the corner of avenue C and 11th street that are scheduled to come literally every 5 minutes. These buses take you across town stopping at every avenue via 14th street. The bus is great for a rainy day or if you are coming from the subway with a lot of packages. The nearest subway is the L train which is about a 5 minute walk from the apartment. This subway line connects you to every major subway in New York. Another option is a car service that will pick you up in front of the building and drops you off anywhere you desire.

I am always available to help and I am very knowledgeable of the neighborhood and the city. Please feel free to contact me ANYTIME for any questions or concerns you may have.

  • I didn't actually meet Dawn because her brother met me at the place and gave me a walkthrough, but both were very helpful and Dawn responded quickly to all my questions. The place is really ideally located if you want to explore the East Village, Alphabet City, and Lower East Side. The studio apt is cozy and has everything you need - it was also very clean, thanks to the fact that Dawn hires professional cleaners. This is a nice bonus! My only issue was with Internet - it worked very sporadically and connection wasn't great. But I would definitely stay here again!

  • Dawn was wonderful, timely and accommodating to our timelines.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience, and I'm happy to report it was a positive one. Dawn was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. The apt is exactly what I wanted - a clean, quiet, and cozy place to rest after long days of sightseeing. It's just like you see in the pictures. I was traveling with my mom and we both felt very safe here. I appreciate getting the local experience that I wouldn't get in a hotel. There are tons of cafés and restaurants to walk to, and the 24 hr. grocer & pharmacy on the corner are handy for last minute items. We bought a 7-day metro card nearby and found the bus very convenient, never having to wait longer than a few minutes. Loved this place and would definitely book again!

  • The apartment was great, everything was a described and Dawn was a very responsive host. Would book again.

I also love the neighborhood, but I guess that depends on personal preference.

  • Dawns apartment was exactly as advertised. It was a very close to the L subway line which allowed for easy transit to any part of the city. The neighborhood was relatively quiet by New York standards. We found no issues with the apartment that were not easily solved, and Dawn was very easy to get ahold of even though she was out of town herself. The apartment was perfect for one or two people who plan on being out more than staying in. Sheets and towels were all clean and the appliances all worked, except that the television is not hooked up to anything so it is more for decoration. Overall we found Dawns place very acceptable and great for people who plan on being and enjoying this great city. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again without hesitation.

    Response from Dawn:

It was a pleasure hosting John. Thankfully the tv is all fixed now that the cable company solved the problem.

  • Dawn's apartment had a nice bedroom, confortable bed and linens. A lot of places to store and hang clothes and stuff. The street scene was beautiful with the cherry trees. TV did not work, though Dawn and her brother tried to solve the problem with the cable firm. The bathroom needs a complete make up, but it works.

What really disapointed us was the worn building entrance, which was always dirty with a lot of garbage bins at its front.

The conclusion is : for those looking for something a little more sophisticated, like us, this is not the place. If you are more relaxed and do not pay attention to details, the apartment would be fine.

    Response from Dawn:

In NYC, all apartment buildings bring their garbage outside in front of their building… this is unavoidable if you choose to rent an apt instead of a hotel. Unfortunately the super was ill during these few days which may have lead to extra garbage being outside in front of the building. Fortunately this has nothing to do with my apartment. I have worked very hard to make my apartment beautiful and pleasing to anyone that comes and stays. I recommend for Danielle to stay in hotels going forward because as much work as I have put into making my apartment beautiful, I have no control over making the outside of the building and the sidewalk aesthetically pleasing. The cable company resolved the problem, TV works. Bathroom is nice and clean with fresh towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner. This is one of those cases where you can't please everyone.

  • Our stay at Dawn's apartment was simply amazing! We loved it and it was just right for our needs. The room was large and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and everything (Hot water, heating, stove, etc..) worked just fine!
The place is in New York's East Village, near everything you need and 5 minutes walk from the subway.

    Simply perfect!

  • We absolutely loved this place. The bed was super comfortable, Dawn was very accommodating and it was clean and very comfortable. I loved the little kitchen and having a few days of feeling like I lived in NYC! The East Village is my new favorite area of New York and I hope to return to this area and this apartment if I can.
Don't turn the shower tap all the way to hot, put it about half way and the water will heat up in a few minutes, if you put it all the way to "H" it will stay cold.

  • Best travel decision ever. The loft is quiet and inviting, and in a fun neighbourhood with tons to do. It was the perfect size for my daughter and I. I would give it 5 stars, except that I didn't know in advance that it doesn't have central heating. It was so cold in New York the week we were there, and the loft only has a space heater. The heater does a good job keeping the great room warm, but the bathroom was cold all the time.

  • We stumbled upon Dawn's listing after our previously reserved apartment was unexpectedly cancelled. Dawn was SO accomodating with our last minute reservation and planning. She provided great instructions for transport to the apartment, restaurants in the area, and was texting with us as we were en route answering our questions. The apartment was great; the bed was comfortable, the apartment was comfortably decorated (but not too much), and it was relatively quiet (only people walking over head & talking outside). The only reason we didn't give it all 5 stars was for cleanliness. It had been thoroughly cleaned and everything was fresh; it is just that it is an older building & places like the bathroom are hard to make truly clean in that situation. Overall, it was an excellent place & I would absolutely stay there again. Thank you!
