The Space

Enjoy a stay in this turn of the century Charleston single style house that was built in the early 1900s. We renovated the house top to bottom in 2011. The house is a duplex with my husband and I living on the second floor, you would be staying in the first floor, two bedroom apartment. The nightlife of upper King Street is easily accessible and within walking distance. With a free trolley that picks up nearby, picking up every 15 minutes starting at 7:16am. The trolley will take you all over the peninsula.

The apartment includes a full modern kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, and all the basic utensils, a washer/dryer in a separate laundry closet, an updated bathroom, and closets in all the bedrooms for storage. There are lots of windows that let in the light in the morning and the sunset in the evening; you will also have a private door that leads into your first floor apartment. The bedrooms each feature a queen size bed and a ceiling fan. There is a flat panel TV in the living room with DirecTV. You can also enjoy free WiFi in your apartment.

Come enjoy your home away from home in this private, beautifully renovated Charleston Single. Please note this is a 30 day rental.

  • Kristyn was a fantastic host and would recommend her apartment to anyone traveling to Charleston. Close to downtown and very clean. We did not have any problem getting street parking right outside either.

  • This was as good as an airbnb experience can get. The place itself was at least as nice as the pictures show. Spacious with a great kitchen and two beautiful bedrooms. Kristyn herself was super responsive and helpful, and we even had the pleasure of chatting with her and her husband for a long time on the porch one evening. They are great.

We asked for a recommendation on where to watch the World Cup and the response (the Alley) couldn't have been better. Their recommendation on where to go for dinner (two Burroughs larder) was "amazing amazing amazing" just as Kristyn had promised.

The house is well located. We are major walkers, so we were unfazed by the 30 min walk to downtown. But there's a free shuttle that is close and easy too.

    Anyways, highest marks possible.

  • Kristyn was a great host!!! The house was gorgeous, very clean and in a good location! Great communication and all of our needs were easily accommodated. I would recommend this place to anyone! Try two boroughs larder down the street for great food and an awesome beer and wine selection. Thanks Kristyn!!

  • We had a really nice stay in Kristyn's place. She left a binder full of pretty much everything you need to know about the apartment and Charleston and was available to answer any questions we had. The apartment was incredibly clean and prepared when we arrived and I loved all the decor and accents that made the apartment feel like a nice little home. Overall it was great!

  • Kristyn's house in Charleston was lovely! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kristyn and her husband were both very responsive with an easy check in and check out. The house is close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to the heart of town though it is a little over a mile and it gets warm in the afternoons. The house is nicely decorated and has comfortable beds with nice sheets. They provided plenty of fluffy towels, coffee and tea. Very thoughtfully appointed. There's ample room in the living area to spread out and relax or visit. I recommend this lovely house if you are spending some time in Charleston.

  • My husband and I visited Charleston for our honeymoon! Kristyn's space was perfect! So clean, quiet, and conveniently located. The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated. She was easy to reach too! We would highly recommend air b n b travelers to stay here while visiting the low country.

  • Kristyn's home was fantastic! Decorated nicely, clean, comfortable, and safe. Parking was no problem at all. My family and I felt that we got a true Charleston southern charm experience by staying at the apartment . As someone else pointed out, the shower is great!! I think that was my favorite part. We walked to Hominy Grill for breakfast which I also highly recommend. There were five of us and Kristyn graciously set up an airbed for us. She was a great host and very helpful and promptly responded to emails. I would definitely recommend this listing.

I was born and raised in Southern California, I married a local Charleston boy, and we are now living in Charleston, SC. I went to school for Education and taught preschool for 5 years before marrying my husband. Being a California girl transplanted in the south makes me homesick sometimes but Charleston really has a bit of everything. I love being able to go to the beach and actually get in the water without freezing! My husband and I are foodies, we love going out to eat and experiencing different restaurants, which Charleston has so many of; but staying at home and cooking up a delicious meal is just as fun sometimes. I have gotten into running lately and take my dog out in the morning for a jog around the neighborhood, this has also helped me to get to know the people around me. Reading is my other past-time, I love curling up with a good book and getting lost for a few hours. So in the morning you can find me jogging and in the evening you will find me reading! I love to travel and my favorite place so far has been Australia. I went for 2 weeks and have been wanting to go back ever since. I also loved Aruba, just the idea of an island that is also a desert was very intriguing and interesting to see. Traveling to Europe is on my bucket list, I have never seen it and would really love to! When I travel I tend to steer clear of the more tourist spots and go somewhere a local has suggested. I feel that you get a better idea of the city you are in that way. Although I usually do one day of tourist activities, "getting my tourist on " as I call it. Photos are wonderful and I can't get enough when I'm traveling, I also like to scrapbook so little mementos are also kept from places I visit. That is why we included different restaurants for you to experience in Charleston, places that aren't touristy and are some staples of ours.
