This house reflects the lives of my grandparents. My grandfather was a master mariner by profession. He sailed in the American Merchant Marine from the 1920s to the 1940s, circumnavigating the globe more than 25 times. His wartime service was as captain of the Liberty ship, SS John Fiske, whose identifying plaque from the ship’s bridge is on the eastern exterior wall next to the steering wheel. When they retired in the 1970s, my grandparents chose this location so that he and my grandmother could have a quiet life in the woods, but at the same time could see the horizon and part of the sea.
The tree-top setting is just a half-mile from the town of Inverness with its store, post office, café, and restaurants; and a ten-minute drive from the restaurants, shops and weekend Farmers’ Market of Point Reyes Station. Beaches, hiking trails and the Point Reyes National Seashore are within walking distance or a short car ride, and the south-facing deck is sunny and warm all day. But don't take our word for it--read what the New York Times had to say about Salt Water, the local restaurant, and the delights of the wider area. '36 hours in Marin County', 27 Jan. 2013.
We hope that you enjoy our house, enter into its spirit enjoying the views of Tomales Bay, the hills, woods and beaches of western Marin and Elephant Mountain bathed in the ever- changing light of the Point Reyes Peninsula, a very special ‘Island in Time’.

4--No pets in the house, please.
5--If you accidentally stain the carpet PLEASE let us know so that we can clean it in a timely manner.
6--The upper deck of the house is also available on Airbnb, it is a great option to rent both for larger groups.
We had a great time at the place. It was perfect for what we needed, clean, great views, good size for two and comfortable. The location is ideal for getting around the area. Had a great time at the farmers market in point Reyes, had a perfect afternoon at the Ho Island Oyster Co. and a great dinner at Stellina. Will definitely be returning
Our only complaint was the people staying above us were extremely loud until almost 2am in the morning.
We loved staying here! Perfect amount of space for a couple and well-appointed kitchen. We got groceries from nearby Inverness Park and cooked breakfast at home with ease. Also as foodies we tried Justinian's recommendation of Sir and Star and loved it!! The view of Tomales Bay was a treat to wake up to. On your way here, make sure to have your directions pre-loaded in case your GPS cuts out - we momentarily lost reception on the way up but were able to find our way with Justinian's directions.
Lovers Landing is a very private, cozy flat on a partially paved road. There is an upstairs unit and two people were staying there but we did not hear them at all. Justinian was very communicative and made the process super easy. The unit is just as pictured, furnished very simply and has everything you need. The bed and bedding was very comfortable; however we would have appreciated a king bed :) The deck with great view had sun until late afternoon. Thank you!
Lovers' Landing is an absolutely incredible property - sweeping views of Tomales Bay while you're perched high up in the trees. Justinian was an excellent host who was very quick to respond, provided clear check-in instructions, and even helped us out in a pinch when there was a mix-up with the cleaning lady. I'd highly recommend this spot for a large group - there's an upstairs and downstairs unit that if combined, would be an incredible stay for friends. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!
