This house reflects the lives of my grandparents. My grandfather was a master mariner by profession. He sailed in the American Merchant Marine from the 1920s to the 1940s, circumnavigating the globe more than 25 times. His wartime service was as captain of the Liberty ship, SS John Fiske, whose identifying plaque from the ship’s bridge is on the eastern exterior wall next to the steering wheel. When they retired in the 1970s, my grandparents chose this location so that he and my grandmother could have a quiet life in the woods, but at the same time could see the horizon and part of the sea.
The tree-top setting is just a half-mile from the town of Inverness with its store, post office, café, and restaurants; and a ten-minute drive from the restaurants, shops and weekend Farmers’ Market of Point Reyes Station. Beaches, hiking trails and the Point Reyes National Seashore are within walking distance or a short car ride, and the south-facing deck is sunny and warm all day. But don't take our word for it--read what the New York Times had to say about Salt Water, the local restaurant, and the delights of the wider area. '36 hours in Marin County', 27 Jan. 2013.
We hope that you enjoy our house, enter into its spirit enjoying the views of Tomales Bay, the hills, woods and beaches of western Marin and Elephant Mountain bathed in the ever- changing light of the Point Reyes Peninsula, a very special ‘Island in Time’.

I wish we could have stayed longer - what a beautiful location and home! Justinian was very quick to respond to my questions, which was appreciated. We cooked our own dinner the night we stayed and felt right at home with the little fire place.
Thanks for sharing your property!
My wife and I stayed at Lover's Landing for 4 weeks this January for a working vacation. It was an amazing location in the heart of pt. reyes national seashore. Super quiet, and a great place to unwind for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. High speed internet worked great in case needed. The gas fireplace was a highlight.
Wonderful view of the bay from the deck, close to tons of wilderness trails, plus kayaking, beaches, a handful of local restaurants were all amazing.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lovers' Landing. The house is so quiet and the view is beautiful. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but Inverness is really only about 5 minutes away. The furniture is cozy and the fireplace, which turns on with the flip of a switch, was great. We sat in front of it for hours. The recommendation to eat at Saltwater was a good one. The oysters were amazing! The one-night option is great for a quick trip and Justinian was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.
Beautifully sited overlooking Tomales Bay in the distance, private, and absolutely quiet. The bed was firm and comfortable with quality linens. A perfect choice and great value for a one or two night getaway.
This was a great AirBnb experience. The house was exactly what it claimed to be. Justinian was super easy to work with. It is in a beautiful location and reasonably priced compared to other houses in the area. The one night option was super sweet. We happened to have a beautiful mid November California day and enjoyed the deck in the sunshine.
Beautiful getaway spot! The place was clean and had everything you need. Enjoying some tea in the morning on the patio was divine!
Just be careful the front door may automatically lock behind you!
Great ambiance and location. Would definitely recommend to Bay Area couple looking for a quiet weekend get-away. The one night option was great.
This is a sweet place. You can see the water from the deck and my boyfriend and I spent a good deal of time curled up by the fire reading. :) The bed is comfy and the big windows throughout look out onto treetops.
It's a great place in a great location. Quiet, with fantastic views. Would recommend it to anyone.
Totally serene and romantic, like being at home only cozier with fire and reading nook -- and what a view, overlooking tree-tops and the bay! Fantastic weekend, we'll be back for sure.
