This house reflects the lives of my grandparents. My grandfather was a master mariner by profession. He sailed in the American Merchant Marine from the 1920s to the 1940s, circumnavigating the globe more than 25 times. His wartime service was as captain of the Liberty ship, SS John Fiske, whose identifying plaque from the ship’s bridge is on the eastern exterior wall next to the steering wheel. When they retired in the 1970s, my grandparents chose this location so that he and my grandmother could have a quiet life in the woods, but at the same time could see the horizon and part of the sea.
The tree-top setting is just a half-mile from the town of Inverness with its store, post office, café, and restaurants; and a ten-minute drive from the restaurants, shops and weekend Farmers’ Market of Point Reyes Station. Beaches, hiking trails and the Point Reyes National Seashore are within walking distance or a short car ride, and the south-facing deck is sunny and warm all day. But don't take our word for it--read what the New York Times had to say about Salt Water, the local restaurant, and the delights of the wider area. '36 hours in Marin County', 27 Jan. 2013.
We hope that you enjoy our house, enter into its spirit enjoying the views of Tomales Bay, the hills, woods and beaches of western Marin and Elephant Mountain bathed in the ever- changing light of the Point Reyes Peninsula, a very special ‘Island in Time’.

2--We ask that you please respect this house as a no-smoking environment, this includes all deck areas (this is because of fire concerns, Inverness is high risk fire zone).
3--We also ask that you remove street shoes on the deck or in the kitchen.
4--No pets in the house, please.
5--If you accidentally stain the carpet PLEASE let us know so that we can clean it in a timely manner.
6--The upper deck of the house is also available on Airbnb, it is a great option to rent both for larger groups.
A nice, clean bottom-level apartment/flat with all the amenities we needed, and more, for our one-night stay. It's not fancy, kind of dated actually, but definitely clean and functional, which is all we wanted. Towels were provided in the bathroom. In-unit washer dryer was nice to have and use, and the WiFi worked well. The kitchen looked functional, but we didn't use it (would have if we were there longer). We did hear some noise from the residents above, but just foot steps and doors opening/closing - nothing too loud. Otherwise a good quiet location with lots of hikes and outdoor activities, and at least two restaurants a few minutes (drive) away. The sunny deck (morning sun, facing East) has a view to the bay and would is great for morning coffee or breakfast or book-reading. The check-in/out process was super easy, which allowed us to arrive and depart with minimal effort - a huge plus. Would definitely stay again.
The cabin has two units, the upper (larger) and the lower (smaller).
We stayed in the lower unit (smaller), which is on the pics.
The cabin was perfect with amazing view over the Tomales Bay that you can enjoy from the big deck.
Cabin has lots of natural light coming in and the opens super nice views on the the bay.
Inside the cabin was nice, neat and clean, with basic and well functioning amenities including WiFi.
No TV which was great!
A perfect getaway for those who want to escape the city life.
Will be back for sure!
Very relaxing place to stay in a remote location where you won't be disturbed by traffic driving by. Even though the home is bordering other houses along the small road, it feel as though you have the place to yourself. The trees provide good cover and privacy. The place was peaceful and quiet. Basic amenities were provided like a towel, dish washing soap and the basics for showering. I had an issue where I could not get the fire place turned on. I contact the hosts through airbnb and they responded right away. I got it turned on and was able to relax by the fireplace at the end of the night after a day of hiking.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lovers' Landing. Justinian gave helpful, accurate descriptions and directions; it was everything we expected and more! The views are amazing!
The more modern cousin of the house upstairs, it was clean, cute and had a great view.
Nice place on an out of the way street with a fabulous view! Lots of windows in the bedroom to enjoy early morning sun and it was lovely to eat breakfast out on the porch in the sun.
Beautiful little place perfect for a weekend romantic getaway. The view is gorgeous and it feels very private. All the amenities we needed. Close to anything one might need. I would come back here in a second. The host was very cordial as well!

I am a wine broker living in San Francisco. This house has been in our family for my entire life, and I have grown up swimming in the bay, hiking the hills and surfing the oceans around this beautiful part of California.
