This house reflects the lives of my grandparents. My grandfather was a master mariner by profession. He sailed in the American Merchant Marine from the 1920s to the 1940s, circumnavigating the globe more than 25 times. His wartime service was as captain of the Liberty ship, SS John Fiske, whose identifying plaque from the ship’s bridge is on the eastern exterior wall next to the steering wheel. When they retired in the 1970s, my grandparents chose this location so that he and my grandmother could (email hidden) in the woods, but at the same time could see the horizon and part of the sea.
The tree-top setting is just a half-mile from the town of Inverness with its store, post office, café, and restaurants; and a ten-minute drive from the restaurants, shops and weekend Farmers’ Market of Point Reyes Station. Beaches, hiking trails and the Point Reyes National Seashore are within walking distance or a short car ride, and the south-facing deck is sunny and warm all day. But don't take our word for it--read what the New York Times had to say about Salt Water, the local restaurant, and the delights of the wider area. '36 hours in Marin County', 27 Jan. 2013.
We hope that you enjoy our house, enter into its spirit enjoying the views of Tomales Bay, the hills, woods and beaches of western Marin and Elephant Mountain bathed in the ever- changing light of the Point Reyes Peninsula, a very special ‘Island in Time’.

This place was amazing and Justinian (email hidden). It was everything my boyfriend and I could ask for! Clean, quiet, quaint and not as secluded as one may think. Even though it was tucked away amongst the trees, Point Reyes Station was just a short drive away. Perfect weekend getaway!
Justinian was super easy to communicate with and the place was just as advertised -- a perfect spot for visiting Inverness / Point Reyes area. FANTASTIC view, great location, cozy accommodations. We cooked an amazing dinner on the BBQ and using their kitchen. Feels like you're in a treehouse when hanging out on the deck.
Justinian was great - he gave us all the information we needed and set the place up to maximize our comfort. The place was beautiful, and the kitchen was especially great (we ended up cooking three of the four meals we had during our stay). Getting to the bay was walkable, which added to our experience.
Had a wonderful time staying at Lovers' Landing. The view and accommodations were exactly as listed. Easy directions for arrival, easy access to town and great hiking / activities. Hosts were accessible but didn't interfere with the stay. There's another, larger airbnb space on the floor above, but Lovers' Landing is very private, as you must descend exterior deck stairs to access it from the parking area. The hosts left some lovely information about the space and the area. A great weekend; well worth it!
The cabin at Inverness was lovely. Beautiful views, spotless clean, quiet, in the middle of the forest yet five minutes to restaurants. Communication was easy and fast and it was really a pleasure to stay here. Definitely recommend and will use again when returning to the area that is beautiful and has so many areas to explore.
If you (email hidden) to stop time and unplug, this is it. Beautiful views from the deck and a comfy bed complete the package. Owner is very responsive and helpful. Will definitely come back!
My stay at Lovers' Landing was magnificent, really wonderful — though I was traveling solo to get away for a weekend to work on a writing project, the space was lovely, cozy, pacific and reinvigorating. Thank you Justinian for a seamless experience.
I wish we could have stayed longer - what a beautiful location and home! Justinian was very quick to respond to my questions, which was appreciated. We cooked our own dinner the night we stayed and felt right at home with the little fire place.
Thanks for sharing your property!
My wife and I stayed at Lover's Landing for 4 weeks this January for a working vacation. It was an amazing location in the heart of pt. reyes national seashore. Super quiet, (email hidden) to unwind for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. High speed internet worked great in case needed. The gas fireplace was a highlight.
Wonderful view of the bay from the deck, close to tons of wilderness trails, plus kayaking, beaches, a handful of local restaurants were all amazing.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lovers' Landing. The house is so quiet and the view is beautiful. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but Inverness is really only about 5 minutes away. The furniture is cozy and the fireplace, which turns on with the flip of a switch, was great. We sat in front of it for hours. The recommendation to eat at Saltwater was a good one. The oysters were amazing! The one-night option is great for a quick trip and Justinian was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.
