Cornella de Llobregat is a quiet town neighboring Barcelona, home to Spanish Premier League Soccer team RCD Espanyol whose new stadium is 1 min walking distance and at the end of the street. Cornella's World Trade Center is a 20 minute walk away. S'plau shopping center is a 5 min walking, to the left of the Espanyol stadium, and there are plenty of local grocery stores, Condis and Dia supermarkets, and various local bars and restaurants.
5 minute walk to FFCC Catalan metro (Cornella Riera station)
It is 5 stops on the FFCC to get to FIRA where the big conferences are held
12 minute walk to Barcelona metro blue line (Cornella Centre station)
The Blue line will take you downtown to the La Sagrada Família, a must see when you're in town.
Barcelona Fira I and Fira II convention and trade show center (10 min by FCC train) are close by. CityLab is a 20 minute walk.
For bike lovers the apartment is well connected to bike paths along the shore of Llobregat river and you can cycle for many kilometers between the Mediterranean sea and the Montserrat mountain.
2 bicycles in the flat for your use.
Other Things to Note
I have had my place professionally appointed and prepared by a hotelier. It has all new sheets and towels and I even upgraded my kitchen ware. I think you will like it much better than a hotel.
This is a quiet neighborhood, so no loud parties please. There are families with small kids who go to bed early. If you are out on the terrace please be considerate to neighbours after 10 PM, a bit longer Fridays and Saturdays. This is my home, so please be considerate of my things. Please smoke only on the terrace or the balcony.Other than that, what happens in Cornella de Llobregat, stays in Cornella de Llobregat!
We were met by Ralf who looks after the property, and he was only a phone call away if we needed anything. Apartment was as described; everything worked, well equipped kitchen, powerful shower in bathroom. Sunny terrace in morning. Comfortable sofas. Local food shops, chemist, bars in street. 5 minute walk to Splau which has many shops/supermarket/restaurants and a cinema. 3 minute walk to Espanyol stadium. 3 minute walk to Cornella metro for Barcelona centre in under 30 minutes. Lots of tourist maps/info provided. 15 minutes from airport by car.
Dear Mark, thank you for staying, leaving the apartment nearly as untouched (it was so clean!) and for all your feed back both the likes and the improvement feedback. It's obvious that you are professional in the apartment rental business so we will make the most of your reccomendations. Ralf and David
David and Ralf are FANTASTIC hosts! We traveled to Barcelona for work, and spent many MANY long hours doing just that. David's place was perfect for us, because of the location, but it also made us feel right at home. The apartment is perfect for travelers who are wanting to establish a home base, or those traveling for work. Many of our colleagues were jealous of our situation (those renting and staying in hotels). The apartment has every amenity you need for an extended stay...all the comforts of home.
The neighborhood is great, and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, safe, and comfortable. A trip in to Barcelona is literally only a 5 minute walk away to the train station, and 15-20 minutes later you are in the middle of it all! Our schedule with work had us visiting many of the area cafes and bars for tapas or just to relax a bit. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, even though we were Catalan challenged early in the trip.
I cannot say enough good things about David and Ralf in the space I have left here. They were helpful above and beyond any expectation. We still have a list of places recommended to visit when we return. We will definitely visit Barcelona again, likely for work, but will plan some holiday time...and we are hoping the apartment will be available!
We are very thankful to have found them and their place!
