About This Listing
Our place is located in a newly constructed neighborhood that overlooks Ship Creek and downtown Anchorage. You will have access to the upstairs (kitchen, living room, laundry, front porch) and your room(s) and bathroom are downstairs!
This is the only available room(s) in Government Hill, Anchorage. It's a small, modern construction neighborhood that is situated right across from downtown, only separated by Ship Creek where you'll often find hordes of people casting their lines during fishing season. Everything within a 30 minute walking distance includes the coastal trail, Historic Government Hill, Ship creek (open for fishing), the Saturday Market, ALL the downtown restaurants and bars, and of course your local friendly Fire Station 1. Feel free to swing by for a station tour.
My house is your house. Please use the kitchen, laundry machine, backyard, and front/back porch. The downstairs consists or two bedrooms with two queen size mattresses and a closet in each room for your personal use. The bathroom is located on the same floor and is private with towels, face cloths, and basic shampoo and liquid soap provided. Our bedroom, the kitchen, living room, laundry room, and the front porch is upstairs.
My schedule can be busy. For the most part, the place will be all yours! If I'm there, come hungry, I always make extras!
The neighbors always wave and the neighborhood is newly constructed. Everyone is nice so feel free to wave on back.

I like things in threes, so I only have three rules: respect the property, respect others, and enjoy your stay!
When I choose an accomodation for me it is very important that it is inviting, I can be independant and it is especially quiet, as I mostly stay longer. For my Anchorage stay I did a detailed check of the offers. Finally I chose David and Jessica's place for my almost two weeks stay. And I wasn't disappointed. Their room offered me all I was expecting. Quite a new house, the room looked like new. I had my complete privacy in the lower floor. And the house is in an new neighbourhood. Just 5 min. by car to the city center. Amazing was the fantastic panorama over downtown and the mountains surrounding ANC during the different times of the day. And finally Jessica and David are hosts with the real "airbnb-spirit". As they like to travel they know what travellers need. If you don't want to look longer for a place or you are still undecided, I just can recommend the Victorian Inspired place. You will be satisfied.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and David and Jessica made it very easy! We got prompt responses and everything was exactly as described. The basement was clean, private and easy to access. We were quite busy while in Anchorage so we didn't see David and Jessica much, but they were friendly and flexible, letting us borrow some dishes and accommodating an additional guest at the last minute.
Great place, nice, quiet. Convenient location. Though I didn't meet them David and Jessica they were quick to respond in communications and super helpful.
We lived in the house for two days. The space for guests is the whole floor 1, so guests have their own space. Meanwhile, the hosts are prepared to help at any time. Dave and Jess are awesome! We got considerate accommodation and good suggestions for travel from the hosts. I believe young guys will love the house and interesting talks with Dave and Jess!
We have got a very good hospitality with "David and Jessica" we arrived after very long flight. And it was very relaxing place for us to acclimate. Immediately after we arrived they offer to us a nice dinner, this kind of hospitality could be happen only by Airbnb.
Thank you so much.
We enjoyed our stay at David and Jessica's place very much! They made us feel extremely welcomed: answered our questions about traveling in Alaska; recommended restaurants and art galleries; shared stories; they even showed us their wedding pictures. The room is comfortable, and we had the privacy the lower floor is basically ours to use. We had a busy schedule so we didn't see David after the first day. We will choose to stay at this place again if we are going to visit Anchorage again the future!
I had an awesome week at David and Jessica's house! This house is really beautiful, clean, safe, and most importantly, warm and welcoming. At the house, I basically had a whole floor to myself because the room and private bathroom are located on their own floor so I appreciated having my privacy. It is located 10 minutes away from downtown Anchorage whether you have a car or not, in a nice and quiet neighborhood with a wonderful view on the mountains and the town around. If you choose to rent a car, you will be able to park it right in front of the house and join other main roads very quickly. If you don't rent a car, you'll find the bus a few steps away, literally less than a minute walk. David and Jessica are both super friendly. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Also, they were very resourceful, sharing tips, maps, and cool Alaskan stories with me! I honestly can't think of something that could have been done better. It was a perfect stay and exceeded all of my expectations. If you go to Anchorage, don't hesitate a second!
About the Host, David And Jessica
I was born in California and moved to Alaska about seven years ago. I've been working as a firefighter at the downtown fire station since I moved here. Working in that area has given me good insight in to the annual events and nightlife of Anchorage including where to go and where to avoid. Feel free to ask me anything. I personally enjoy most anything outdoors including fishing, hiking, and camping. I'm not ashamed to say I like indoor activities too like painting, movies, and cooking. If you're around, I always make extra food so come hungry. My work schedule can be pretty busy so I may not be home for days on end. My beautiful and lovely wife also works a crazy schedule so she may or may not be around. For the most part, the house will be all yours. The neighbors always wave and the neighborhood is great, I wouldn't live anywhere else. Come stay a while, make yourself at home.
