We live in Crestline Village - Mountain Brook, AL. If you need a bedroom and bathroom while you are in the city for business or pleasure or visiting one of our great schools, we are in a prime location.
It is a nice private bedroom (twin bed w/ pillow top mattress/can add a blow-up twin mattress if needed) in a finished basement. Great for sleeping as it is dark and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Bath is right beside the bedroom. Nice desk and full-length mirror in the room. Laundry room is also downstairs and available.
The basement has a separate entrance and the guest can come and go without entering the upstairs. Because the room is downstairs, you can hear my family walking, etc. upstairs when we are at home and awake. Just want to be sure you know.
Interaction with Guests
I am a busy mom with three kids (two at home), one with special needs. I enjoy people, but may not be available for much interaction. My special needs daughter (14) loves people as well. She will greet them with the best smile ever!
One of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Birmingham - Mountain Brook. Very convienent to restaurants, boutique shops and grocery stores. No fast food type places. About 5 minutes from I-20 and about 5 minutes from Highway 280.
No. There is a bus that goes through Crestline, but I am uncertain of times & stops.
Other Things to Note
Two things: I have a 14 year old mentally handicapped daughter who is very friendly. If it will bother you, please stay elsewhere. She lives upstairs and can be a bit rambunctious in the mornings, but she is gone all day and goes to bed very early in the evenings.
Two: I have two dogs. Both love people and both are non-shedders. But if you hate dogs, don't come stay at our home because they will want to meet you and greet you.
I expect you to respect my home as if it were your own. If you use the kitchen and dishes, etc. please clean it up. Happy to have you.
I currently live in Birmingham, Alabama. I love to travel when I can find the time and money. I am a mother, a writer, and an advocate for women. Some of my travels outside the US: Brasil, Ecuador, Mexico, England, France, Italy - in the US: the West Coast is a favorite, as is Chicago, but New York will always be my favorite. I enjoy the arts, people, great food and good wine. During the day I work as an Office Manger of an architecture firm, but that is to pay the bills. I spend my spare time with my kids, friends or reading/learning. I will be a great guest. Easy going and respectful. I have a home and I know the value of caring for yours.
