I am renting my cottage since 2006. I own the lot next door, a tiny wood, so the back yard is very private. The house is on a private dirt road....the home has a large deck, front porch, fireplace, I provide linens, spices, paper towels, trash bags..
This is the home I raised my boys in. Its was always filled with love....

.Absolutely loved this house and will definitely plan on staying here again! My husband is originally from Connecticut and his entire family still lives there. Traditionally we stay with family when we visit but I decided to rent a house this trip so we could entertain and have everyone over. This house was charming and very comfortable. It was my mother in laws 80th birthday and I had about 25 family members over for a dinner party. Every person who entered the house commented on what a terrific cottage it was. Having the upstairs loft was a perfect space for my son to have his privacy and a place to relax. He (and I) loved having the wireless internet connection that worked great! The outdoor area was very private and the deck was a wonderful space to hang out and kick back. Everyone really enjoyed the art work throughout the house and commented that it provided warmth and character to the cottage. Lastly I want to share my comments on the owner Yvette, she was very prompt in her responses to me and a real pleasure to work with through the rental process. Yvette thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us, it was the most memorable visit to Connecticut that our family has ever had. Take care, my best, Julianna
(This was the first time I ever rented a home online or used the Home Away site, it was a great experience!)

The house was adorable and the neighborhood was so friendly and quiet and beautiful. Perfect beach getaway weekend with a toddler and a 7 yr old. Axel and the owner were very responsive to our questions and helpful.
The house was very quiet, cozy and had the vintage taste to it. I went with my girl friends and we all really loved our stay there. Yvette was very kind in terms of being flexible with our schedules and we got to meet the lovely cleaning lady as well. I feel like it could've been cleaner if possible but its very pleasant, close to the beach and friendly neighborhood was such a refreshing getaway from the city.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
A nice place for our anniversary weekend. Yvette was great and went out of her way to accommodate our 6 month son. We didn't ask for any specific help but she saw his picture on my profile picture and volunteered that she could provide a high-chair, pac N play and gate. Very nice to not have to lug these things from the city and extremely thoughtful for her to volunteer that information pro-actively.
Other Good things:
House was clean and tidy. Grill was in nice shape and gas was full. Back yard area is really beautiful and private.
Areas for improvement:
Toilet had water pressure problems but flushed eventually. The kitchen is quite bare in terms of ingredients, so be prepared to bring or purchase essentials like olive oil, vinegar, etc...

About the Host, Axel
We are very pleased to welcome quiet and respectful visitors and we have been blessed so far with wonderful guests that became friends eventually. I am very much into vacation rentals, since 7 years now trying to bring this to an art.
