Apartment - Entire home/apt · West 116th Street, New York, NY 10026, United States

You are invited to Manhattan’s most historic neighborhood, Morningside Heights. The place, where the mornings are always bright, and a ton of natural light penetrate your day. This extraordinary place is decorated with one of the most famous universities in the world- Columbia University. Needless to say, that the sunsets are something you won’t want to miss out.
Few facts about the apartment that will make you say WOW: Central Park, New York’s pearl, is only steps away; Morningside Park is even closer, literally at the end of the block. The travel time to Times Square, Penn Station, the Museum of Natural History, Children’s Museum of Manhattan and the heart of town is only 15 min via the express train which is located 1.5 blocks from the apartment!!!! Obviously, the area is safe and super quite, for all the travelers that want to get some piece of mind after a long day in the city.
A historic and classic brownstone building will welcome you as you arrive, so you’ll be able to get a real feeling of the big apple. Gorgeous, spacious and fully furnished 2 bedroom, that fits 5 people with no problem. Perfect for families or friends.
Keep in mind that we will provide you with everything that’s needed to feel at home, even though you far away. Clean towels, shampoo, soap, linens, bed sheets, and even a hair dryer for you ladies.
Few other amenities that our apartment features: First and most important- the subway station is 1.5 blocks from the apartment (4 min walk); Duane Read pharmacy is at the end of the block; Starbucks and Dunkin donuts coffee, the local supermarket, laundry drop off service, city bus are all in a 1.5 block radius! Abundant number of taxis and car services are around the area and the parking is completely free (for those of you are renting a car)

  • I was looking for a convenient, ground-level apartment to accommodate 3 "senior" travelers and myself and this place fit the bill. I found Dmitri to be very easy to contact via text or e-mail and responsive to even last-minute changes of plans. The place is clean and simply furnished. The neighborhood has everything you need within a few blocks, as advertised. We did eventually find street parking, but needed to be alert to street cleaning schedules and fire hydrants to avoid a ticket. Window air conditioning units in the main room and master bedroom kept the space comfortable, but the twin bedroom was stuffy at night unless the door was open. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood for NYC, but travelers should be advised that the front bedroom with twin beds faces the street and can be noisy if neighbors decide to socialize on the front stoop or the sidewalk. It is probably less of a problem in the winter months than in the summer. Bring your own white noise app on your cell phone! All in all, a good first airbnb experience for us and we will recommend this apartment to others.

  • The apartment is well located nearby the beautiful Morningside Park (half block away) and close to 2 subway stations, 116 line B (2 1/2 blocks) and to Columbia University and the corresponding subway station. The neighborhood is safe and surrounded by little stores of food and a minimarket.
It's size allows 5 people to sleep and stay comfy in this apartment.
It's was clean and well equipped: it has fresh towels and toilet tissue, clean sheets and comforters. The hot water functioned perfectly. The kitchen has a big fridge and a microwave (both really useful!), plus tableware. It has an useful dinner table and chairs.
I certainly would stay there again! it has free and great wi-fi connection and that was awesome!! Additionally it has a TV with some channels.
The only tiny problem is this apartment given is located in a 1st. floor doesn't receive too much daylight, but if you go to NYC certainly you want to spend time outside sightseeing. Very recommendable.

  • English: the first time for us with airbnb. and the first time in New York. We do not know the neighborhoods and we do not know if Harlem was a safe neighborhood. although the activity is happening south of the island there is absolutely everything you need in walking distance and the metro stations is a 2 min walk. Central Park is at 5/10 min walking Dmitri (email hidden), which responds to each of our questions very quickly. the apartment is large enough, we were two couples and we had plenty of room. there is everything you need on site (hairdryer, soap, pots, glasses, etc ...) the building is a little bit ils but the apartement is is well and maintained. No bad surprises! Thank you for everything!!!!!!!

  • We enjoyed this appartment while traveling to NY with our family

    positive points :

    - good location, close to central park and morningside heights. Popular place with few tourists and Harlem-related multicultural neighbourhood.
    - owner responsive and helping to fix problems (TV not working, problem with keys not easy to use
    - Large appartment accommodating easily 5 people/

negative point: the word "gorgeous " should be omitted as many airbnb proposals are overestimated:rated/ the appartment is in the basement with virtually no daylight (not a problem if you spend all your day in NY). the furnitures are minimal and for some of them (kitchen, electricity) largely outdated.

  • Dimitri was wonderful and we loved the apartment. So much space for NYC. Great kitchen. I even made my daughter a big breakfast which she loved. Excellent location, easy access to subway and to columbia university. I slept well since it was so quiet, we hope to return soon. Thanks for everything!

  • Great place to stay for a small family/group, for getting to know the best Manhattan has to offer, only a block and a half away from the subway and a very short distance away from northern Central Park. Convenience store on the same block for all your basic needs! Being so close to the action was key for us 1st time visitors to NYC. Dmitri was very attentive to all of our comments and needs. Excellent host!

  • A really nice and cosy stay in the heart of Harlem. Good access to the subway and to some good local restaurants like Silvia's and The Red Rooster. Definitely worth a stay.

  • I needed a place to stay in NY at short notice. Dmitri was very accommodating throughout my trip. From arranging my stay within two days, accommodating my late arrival, and checking in on me after I left. The apartment is conveniently located next to Morningside Park, just a stone throw away from Columbia University. Coffee was well stocked, bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, even had a hair dryer, apartment was warm during winter. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in NY.

  • My experience was great! I don't know why I would ever stay anywhere else in this area. THE HOST: Dmitri was so quick to respond from the time I inquired about the place, to the day I was on the way, and every time in between. He was even extremely responsive when I was lost and running late... while he was in class! THE APARTMENT: Spotless! I have never been in such a nice sized apt in NY for such an affordable fee. The main bedroom is large and comfortable, and you are even provided with a few different bedding options. There is a separate bedroom with two small beds in it on the opposite end of the hall. This is great so you won't have to hear kids or friends you are staying with. The bathroom is very clean and is located midway between the two bedrooms. Wifi worked flawlessly, as did the HD television mounted on the wall. This place is free of clutter and you will feel like it is your own. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: I felt completely safe the whole time. No loud noises at night, and it is not far from a park. The subway stations are all very close, and people were very helpful when we needed directions. A market, as well as good spots to eat are all within really short walking distance. THE BOTTOMLINE: I'd say, stop thinking about it. If you like the pics and the location, go for it! You won't be disappointed.
