This is a well estabilished older area of Anchorage. It is also a mismash of people and how we live in Anchorage. Our neighbors are the realist people you could ever meet. They also have a well of knowledge about Alaska. They work hard, live here 24/7. It is a true community.
There are many local restaurants nearby. All very good. And everything under our all night sun you can think of.We have information for you when you arrive. We are always a phone call away, and the neighbors are always more than helpful.
There is a bus stop 3 blocks away if you don't want to navigate the streets of Anchorage. We love taking the bus downtown. No hassle parking a car, and then you can enjoy a few brewskies at one of our fine local brewpubs.
If you ever thought of living here, this is about as real as it gets
Enjoy, yet be respectful. Not only of the house, but our neighbors. They work hard & play hard. A colorful, honest, & friendly neighborhood. They love meeting new people and strive to be helpful when asked. Otherwise they will just let you be and try not to crowd your space. They watch over the property like it was one of their kids. I mean this in a good sense. You & your belongs are secure.
So relax and enjoy your stay!
We had a great stay at Tim and Katie's apartment in Anchorage. The apartment was spacious and had a well resourced kitchen (and was newly carpeted!).
We caught the bus to the downtown and it was just a short walk to the stop with regular services. We also walked over to Antonios Greek Bakery and Cafe (10 mins) which was great home-style Greek food.
This was a comfortable and nice apartment, the house was in a good location for getting to the campus and to downtown. We mainly used the public transport system and had no problems. Very clean and a quiet neighborhood. I recommend this listing to others.
Tim and Katie have been super responsive and helpful. Their home is welcoming and thoughtful to accommodate travelers. There were sets of bath towel, face towel and hand towel for each of my family member traveling with me and was neatly presented on the bed. Before my trip they were a great resource; They made sure we knew where to go and how to get to their home. They also suggested some near by places for us to visit, plus city map/information were made available in the house.
Their cozy place had everything it promised and then some!! Thank you for everything !! We had a wonderful time!!
Tim and Katie were very hospitable and made me feel really at home. The night we got in it was late and there was fresh fruit and snacks and even orange juice! They made instructions so I could use the tv and DVD player. The neighborhood was very friendly, and I was especially pleased with the big yard so my 2 year old could run around. The description of the house was very accurate, and the property itself is very clean and nice. The beds and furniture are very comfortable, and the bathroom is great too. We had everything we needed, and what we didn't have (groceries) were easy to get because of the great location. Upon on our departure Tim and Katie went above and beyond and helped us get to the airport.
We would love to stay here again if we find ourselves in Anchorage for an extended stay.
It is a very clean and cozy place. Katie even brought us coffee and muffin in the morning, and we used their coupons they provided. Very close to the airport too. We would love to stay again!
