About This Listing
Situated in a wonderfully calm local neighborhood, yet surprisingly close to all the interesting places in Amsterdam, our cosy, comfortable house it at your full disposal with all its conveniences. A perfect basis for exploring our beautiful city!
We make our couch like a real bed for the 4th person. Our guests tell us this is a very comfortable place to sleep!
In the up-and-coming neigbourhood "The Baarsjes", at 10 minutes from the center of Amsterdam, you will find our beautiful cozy apartment in a wonderfully quiet street. Inside it is nicely decorated and all conveniences are at your disposal: a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, oven, large fridge, microwave and dishwasher, a beautiful wooden dinner table, and a washing machine; a small but convenient bathroom with a large "rain shower", sink and toilet; two bedrooms, one with a large and very comfortable double bed, and one with a comfortable single bed. A fourth guest can sleep on the couch in our spacious living room, where you will also find the cable TV and radio. There is also a small balcony, where you can sit in the sun in the evening. Wireless internet is available throughout the house at no extra cost.
Our neighbourhood was built under the famous "Amsterdamse School" architecture which is a guarantee for a very nice atmosphere where you will feel instantly at home. All necessary conveniences are available at walking distance: supermarkets (open 7 days a week until 10pm) and various small local shops, stylish cafes, restaurants, etc. 30 meters from our house is the beautiful Rembrandtpark, the smaller (and calmer) sister of the Vondelpark, and famous among locals for sport, leisure, walks, or barbecue parties. We call it our front garden - feel free to have your dinner on one of the lawns or set up your own barbecue, or go there for a romantic evening stroll! If you rather would go to the Vondelpark, you can get there easily in perhaps 10 minutes by tram or bike.
The preferred way to get around in Amsterdam is of course by bicycle! Therefore, we made a deal with the bike rental around the corner: you will get a 10% discount on the rental price. However, if you prefer the public transport: bus and tram stops are at 5 minutes walking distance from our house. The center of Amsterdam with all its famous tourist attractions can be reached in 10 minutes by bike or tram, and the connection to other parts of the city is also very well. If you wish you could even reach the center by foot, a very nice walk of about 30 minutes. All important train stations are also easy to reach, should you wish to travel to different places in the country.
You are very welcome to stay in our house. We will do what we can to help you make your time in Amsterdam as pleasant as possible - your smile is our biggest compliment! Of course we will provide you with all necessary information to get around easily. Feel free to contact us if you have any special wishes or require any additional information.
The entire house will be at your exclusive disposal, including all its conveniences: bathroom, living room and everything you can find in our fully equipped kitchen.
Getting around is no problem at all. By far the most interesting way to get around is by bicycle. You can rent bicycles around the corner for a good price. But getting around by public transport is also very easy, and even walking is an option. Time to get to the city centre: Bicycle: 10 minutes; Tram: 15 minutes; Walking: 25 minutes.
Rule number one is that you should treat our house as if it were your own, and we really hope that you will feel at home. For example, you are free to use all ingredients and such that you can find in our kitchen. Rule number two is to do whatever you like to have a good time in Amsterdam. That is the most important thing!
Just some points we ask you to keep in mind:
Our neighbors appreciate if you don't make any loud noise between 22:00h - 9:00.
Please do not invite any non-paying guests in our house. If you wish to meet others we suggest you meet in one of the lovely cafes or restaurants that are nearby - or in the park!
Smoking is possible outside on the balcony. Please don't smoke in the house.
Well, just generally please be a bit thoughtful of our neighbours - but that goes without saying :)
Finally, please leave the house in reasonable order when you leave. Cleaning stuff etc. is available. Within reason of course, for example you won't need to do the laundry! Alternatively, if you prefer to leave a big mess and don't want to be bothered with any cleaning, please do! Just leave €50,00 on the kitchen table and we will take care of everything!
I have been in many Airbnb apartments however this was my best experience so far.
Lucas was in contact with me from a day of reservation till a day of coming. He provided me with all the necessary information so we could avoid any suprises. It is really a pitty we could not meet each other but yet his neighbour was also very kind.
Apartment is very cosy, nice furnitered and has everything you need to survive during your stay :) It is about 30 minutes on foot from city center or 10 minutes by tram. Nearest supermarket is 5 minutes away.
On a table we found a guide regarding house rules and some Amsterdam tips. Please have in mind that Lucas is living in this apartment and he leaves it especially for Airbnb stays. It made us feel more responsible for a place :)
Summing up - thanks Lucas for our stay. Staying at your apartment really makes a difference during Amsterdam trip. I do recommend it!
Our stay in Amsterdam has been amazing also thanks to this apartment. It is in a very good position even if you have to get the public transport to get quickly in the city center and the Neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The apartment is not very big but for 3/4 young people it's perfect, very clean, full of things (also food and beverage) and it's very silent. Lucas wasn't in Amsterdam in our stay here but one of his friends received us when we arrive and it was very friendly with us and explained all. I surely will be back here!
Lucas and Bori weren't able to greet us but their friend Pieter stepped into the breach and explained all about the flat and how things worked. The apartment was smaller than the pictures represented but by no means pokey. The bathroom is quite narrow but fully functioning. Location-wise we were just 15 mins away from the center by tram which was great, especially for the early start to join the queue for the Anne Frank House. We were very comfortable in the apartment and enjoyed shopping at the local supermarket for food and provisions, although less able-bodied people would struggle with the steep steps up to the second floor - we could barely get our suitcases up!. I would definitely recommend the flat to a small family (there were three of us). More detailed info about the nearby square with its shops and restaurants would have been useful. I couldn't access the information Lucas had put on airbnb from my phone while staying there and only discovered it on our last day.
All in all though a good apartment, ideally located and very comfortable and clean.

Thanks to them and their loveley home we had a great time in Amsterdam. From the apartment we got to all the main points in the city in less than 10 minutes by bicycle and got a discount at the bike rental just around the corner fron the apartement. We didn't use the kitchen much, but there would have been all utilies needed to cook and spend the nights at home. Thanks again for the grat expirience!
