About this listing
The Aloha Studio is a 400 square foot comfortable and private studio for 2 but can accommodate up to 4 using the futon couch. We are located within a 15 minute walk to the Alberta street shops, Kennedy school and New Seasons.
Welcome to the Aloha Portland Studio! Just behind and completely separate from the main house in front, follow the path past the urban chicken coop to find this 400 sq. foot one bathroom studio. The studio is one big area divided into a bedroom, living room and kitchen using 6 foot tall walls that don't touch the ceiling but are still able to give you the feel of privacy within a big and open area.
Located in the lively and popular neighborhood of the Alberta Arts District, this is the perfect home base that will satisfy all your needs if you are a single, couple or family visiting Portland. We also ask that children over 5 are included in the guest count.
This studio has air conditioning, internet access, a DVD player, netflix, hulu plus (at this time we do not get any actual television channels, sorry) microwave, refrigerator, washing machine but no dryer, toaster, dishes, coffee maker, there is a kitchen sink and an electric hot plate. An outdoor table and chairs on the patio provide a lovely sitting area.
Check in/Check out:
*Check-in is at 4pm and can normally be performed by yourself at any time and without additional assistance, as you will be emailed the code to open the door. Please let us know if you have any early check-in requests. If there is no one before you on the day you arrive, it might be possible for you to check in early. We would be able to send you an email the night before confirming an early check in. In addition to that, if we can't get you an early check in, then we are happy to store your bags for you as we live in the main house in front.
* Check-out is 12 pm simply because the cleaner needs time to refresh the studio
Guests will have full access to the side of the house, the chicken coop, the back yard and fire pit.
Interaction with Guests
The Aloha Studio is a self service stay and so getting into the studio can all be done with the door code you are given once you book your stay. If you accidentally freeze up the lock box by entering the wrong code too many times, we do have an actual key which you are welcome to. Simply call or text us and we will let you know how to get the key.
We encourage you to text or call us any time you have any questions or need anything during your stay.

Other Things to Note
Additional things to know:
* Keep in mind you are in a commonly rainy residential neighborhood. Sometimes there are power outages that happen during storms which prevent us from getting your tv, lights or microwave on. There is a battery operated light for emergency a which can be found under the kitchen sink next to the fire extinguisher.
*The house is near an intersection. However, you cannot hear much traffic noise at all from inside the studio and it is far enough away from the Alberta strip to get some peace and quiet when you are ready to sleep.
*The gas heater is metal and makes clicks as it starts to heat up. This is the metal expanding with the heat.
*The neighbors garage is right next to the studio. When they take out their trash you might hear a noise. I guess that is to be expected when you live in the city but we thought we would just mention everything.
*The studio is around the back and there are plenty of signs pointing your way. It is a self service stay but please feel free to contact us through text or internet if you need us at any time.
*Smoking outside only please
*Quiet time after 10pm and before 8am
*There is plenty street parking around the corner from the house on 34th but do to the strange intersection it is not reccommended to park on Prescott.
*We want your trip to Portland to be wonderful and for everything to be in working order for you. If there are any problems at all please let us know immediately we will do our best to make sure you leave satisfied with your stay.
