Couples and their pets love the Cottage! Privately situated on 2 acres, conveniently located 10 - 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, and 5 minutes to Weaverville. Cozy, charming, unique, the Cottage provides a fully equipped kitchen, custom mosaic tile bath with walk-in shower, and clever use of recycled materials. Fenced pet approved yard ($50 pet fee), with outdoor dining, barbecue grill and fire pit. Sleeps 3 or 4,: 1 queen, 1 full size futon - located in same room.

The space
The 700 sq ft Wisteria Cottage is cozy, charming, quiet and conveniently located. It sleeps up to four (2 adults and 2 younger children): one queen super comfortable memory foam bed and one full-sized inner spring futon, located in the same room. See photos for layout. It is a great space for a couple, or a couple with younger children. Note beds are located in the same room so are NOT private. Location is 10-15 minutes North of downtown Asheville, and 5 minutes from the town center of Weaverville. Fully-equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite meal, stenciled concrete floor and custom mosaic tile counter tops. Eat out on the private patio, fully fenced for your pet(s) ($50 pet fee), or choose from one of the many local restaurants only minutes from home. Custom mosaic tile bathroom and walk-in shower will be sure to make you say "WOW!" Use of recycled materials include reclaimed wood exterior, with strategic placement of barn wood, reclaimed wood floor in bedroom/living room, painted cement floors in kitchen and reclaimed kitchen cabinets with custom tile counter tops to tie them all together. It is not a slick modern space! Remote working is easy with a desk and comfortable office chair set up in a nook looking over one of the many gardens. The cottage vaulted ceilings makes the space feel open and inviting while the custom painted walls bringing in a romantic, cozy warmth. If you enjoy eclectic old world design, the Cottage will fit you perfectly.

Where you’ll be

Weaverville, North Carolina, United States

Weaverville is a small community 10 minutes north of Asheville. We have a walkable town center with delicious restaurants, art stores and a couple of parks. Look up Weaverville NC for the towns website and more information. The cottage is in a quiet lovely location, at the end of a long driveway that takes you well off the secondary road used to access it. It is rare to find a place so peaceful, and yet so conveniently located. You are only a couple of minutes from the highway, two major grocery stores, CVS, liquor store, the town of Weaverville, and even a Wal-Mart. And you are at most 15 minutes to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cottage shares a large parking area with our home which is on the other side of a large privacy fence.

The cottage location is not in a walkable neighborhood (no sidewalks and narrow shoulder) but it's an easy few minute drive to Weaverville where you can park and walk the neighborhood behind main street as well as the walking trail around Lake Louise, a short stroll from town. Lake Louise also offers a fitness area, children's playground and lots of ducks and turtles!

My husband Stan and I live on the property next door to the Cottage and are your hosts. I have made Asheville my home since 1995, Stan in 2000, and we would never live anyplace else! We're avid outdoorsy types enjoying hikes in the woods, kayaking, camping, wildflowers, birds and beautiful mountain sunrises and sunsets. In 2003 I purchased this amazing property where I lived and worked for 12 years running a small doggie daycare business out of one of the buildings on the property. In 2014, Stan and I tied the knot and I moved to the East side of Asheville, and I closed the dog business. Both homes on the property rented as vacation homes for that time. In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, we sold our East Asheville home, renovated the main home in Weaverville and moved back to the property. We now live next door to the Wisteria Cottage and enjoy welcoming guests to the NC mountains. My other job is organizing and producing dog agility events. Stan is the Electric Transportation Policy Director at Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE). We drive an Electric Vehicle (Nissan Leaf) and have a level 2 charger available on site. Driving your EV or EV-hybrid, we are happy to coordinate access to the charger with you!
