Neighborhood highlights

Close by the charming colonia of San Miguel with its volcanic rock Catholic Church. Just a short distance from Chopes Mexican Restaurant, a destination for many on its own. To the north (about a 15 min drive) is the historic town of Mesilla and to the east is the pink-tinged Organ Mountain Range, now part of a High Desert National Monument, which abounds with hiking opportunities. Guadalupe NP and Carlsbad Caverns are a further distance, but well worth the day trip. White Sands National Monument and the Sacramento Mountains harbor the Lincoln National Forest with Ruidoso and Cloudcroft a short driving distance away. Petroglyph sites are plentiful, such as Three Rivers and Hueco Tanks, near El Paso. About an hour's drive north, you can visit beautiful Gila National Forest (Silver City, Pinos Altos) or Hillsboro, Chloride, or Kingston (old silver mining/ghost towns) or T or C (Truth or Consequences) a historic hot springs district with wonderful resorts as Riverbend Hot Springs.
