  • Gary was kind enough to meet with me after my flight got in after midnight. The place delivered exactly as expected, and it was super convenient to the BART. I enjoyed my stay there very much. Thanks Gary!

  • I stayed at this location to run the San Francisco half marathon. I live in the Bay Area but had to be at the race shuttle by 545 so this location was perfect and the room was exactly what I needed. Gary was very accommodating.

  • Gary's place was interesting. Definitely in a very convenient location that's easy to get to. The place itself was clean and a little different. No frills or kitchen, but, a fine place to spend a night or two. Despite having no windows per say, the sky light provided enough ambient light during the day to not feel like you were in a windowless hole.

Alley entrance definitely has a little bit of a sketchy feel but is par for the course for this area of SOMA. Once inside the building though everything is very secure.

Parking is easy and I would probably stay here again. Gary was really easy to make arrangements with.

I would most likely stay here again.

  • Gary's place is a diamond in the rough. Very cozy, great amenities. In short, I'd stay there again.

  • This was my first airbnb experience, and was a little apprehensive - so while i dont have a direct comparison i do have my perception and experience of others using airbnb, which aren't always positive, my experience definitely was and I will be using again.

Apartment: As described, clean. secure. Everything you need if you're in the city and looking for a place to sleep after exploring in the day.

Host: Gary is friendly, helpful, Accommodating, reassuring, knowledgeable, affable and generally all good things a host should be. Nothing but positive things to say.

Location. Location is downtown and initial way into to the apartment was down a smaller road/ alleyway which in my view is a little grimey, but this apartment is such great value and location is fairly central, between ferry port and mission district.

  • Gary was an incredible host! He was responsive and accommodating. I was looking for a place to stay last minute given travel changes and he made it work. He offered great advice on local places to eat and enjoy. Recommended.

  • First of all, Gary is terrific. He's great at responding quickly, communicating clearly, and he's an overall excellent host. This was my first time using airbnb but based on the reviews, location, and cost it seemed like a safe bet and it was! There is definitely plenty of culture around but nothing scary or unsafe. I walked all over the place and there's some great stuff nearby. The City's two best coffee places - Philz & Blue Bottle, are both in walking distance and some great SOMA restaurants are within easy walking as well. Great shopping is just up Market Street. The room I stayed in was just the right size and more homey than a hotel, especially with the very sweet folks in the Chinese restaurants right below the room. It really was a great SF experience and I look forward to coming back!

  • The room was as expected from the photos. Clean, well maintained, etc. The general location was really convenient. Gary was very helpful. As previous reviewers have noted, the specific location of the room, is sort of urban in that you are likely to see some of the negatives such as homelessness etc. If you are not used to this, it will probably seem like more of an issue than it needs to be. And it seems like gentrification is moving that way anyway, so in time this issue may be less prevalent. The entry is also a little inconvenient/sketchy (through a restaurant or through the back).
