Built in 1890 this Amsterdam crooked house is located on a peaceful green square but smack in the city centre with all important marks within walking distance. Lots of natural light and a large private terrace. Multiple tram lines and 24/7 taxi line.
Built in 1890, our house is one of the many homes that since the water level lowering in the 70' went crooked. Authentic narrrow Amsterdam house with plenty of natural light coming in as it overlooks a small park on the square. Our house is convenient located between a coffee roaster and grocery store.
Access to your apartment with private everything: bathroom, kitchen and large terrace. Fast WiFi. Only thing you share is the outside main entrance, up the staircase you'll find two doors with locks, one leads to your apartment.
Interaction with Guests
We always try to do a personal check in.
During your stay we are a knock/e-mail/phone call away and very much respect your privacy to make sure you feel at home. =)
Our location is awesome. On a peaceful green square but right around the corner of the city centre. And at the edge of a lovely local district called "de Pijp".
Literally just a walk into the craziness: Turn right onto Utrechtsestraat a "posh" shopping street with nice boutiques, shops, bars and restaurants. At the end is Rembrandt square a busy nightlife area, leading into the main shopping area, red light district etc.
Go towards the Pijp, stroll towards the major museums; Take a walk over the "Albert Cuyp" outdoor market and you'll end up on Museum square!
Everything is within walking distance. If your feet might get tired and you are not so much of a cyclist, there are several tram lines that stop right on our square. (tram 4, 7 & 10)
Amsterdam is one of the most expensive cities for street parking(€5,- an hour) If you are planning to drive into Amsterdam we strongly suggest Ajax Arena Parking garage for €8,- a day. (Free public transport ticket back into town)
We make sure to email you with detailed information with useful links on how to get to our place by cab or public transportation.
Also 24/7 taxi line right on the square!
Other Things to Note
Fresh linen and towels are included. Also a hairdryer. Basics toiletries; shampoo, shower gel etc provided.
Please pack light! As a lot of Amsterdam houses, ours also has a steep narrow staircase. Please take this in consideration when booking. And then allow us to help carry up your luggage!
We do allow a friendly smoke but please open a window or terrace door on doing so.
Our house is noisy please respect our neighbors.
But do not let this stop you from having a great time! We hope you feel at home and enjoy Amsterdam like a local =)
My fiancé and I had an absolutely incredible experience in Amsterdam, and it was anchored around our stay in Stacey and Jason's flat. When you look at pictures of the flat on the airbnb page you think to yourself, "no way is this apartment this big or this beautiful". You have some sort of doubt. Well, it is. It's quite large, superbly clean, and dripping with charm.
And the location and surrounding neighborhood? Adorable! There is a park and playground across the street that is teeming with children during the day (I think a school is nearby?), and next door a coffee shop that unfortunately we did not go to but heard is fabulous, and an Albert Heijn grocery store on the other side. The tram stop is only a few hundred feet away that will take you straight to the Centrum and Centraal station, and there's a different tram stop that goes in the circumference of the canal, and can get you to the museums, the Heineken Brewery, bars... you name it. The thing is, the city is pretty central, so you can have a good walk from your apartment to the Centrum in about a mile and a half, which was lovely.
Stacey, Jason, and Nicole were all phenomenal in so many ways. We met Nicole, Stacey's sister, when we got there (we were late, due to a general strike in Belgium, but they were super understanding), who made us feel welcome from the start, We went to several of their recommendations for dinner and activities, and they were all lovely. Best of all, Stacey emailed us every now and then to make sure everything was going well and that we were enjoying our stay. We were really touched by how attentive she was to us.
Would I recommend you stay here? Absolutely. 100%. You will have a better experience here than any other hotel in Amsterdam. When we come back, we will reach out to Stacey again.
We stayed 6 nights. All in all, a great experience. Location is more than perfect. The house is bright, well decorated and provides a sens of 'home'. The neighborhood is quiet, young-urban, with excellent trams and buses and all the shops necessary. A Heim supermarket just the adjacent door.
We have seen Jason (briefly), and the two sisters Stacey & Nicole. More helpful and charming you cannot find.
The only downside: the flat - victim of its success ? - has seen many guests, and you can see it: some paintings and furniture are decayed. A serious facelift should be done. It would again make of this rental one of the very best available in Amsterdam.
We stayed a week in Amsterdam, enjoyed this apartment very much !. This place was perfect for us. A very big apartment in a great location. Lot's of good restaurant's on the crossing street, supermarket a minute away. Tram station 2 minutes walk. Highly recommended !
My son and his girlfriend praised this appartment, location & hosts so much we will be booking a long weekend later on this year.
Brilliant space! You will love this apartment. Great location, beautifully designed and the hosts were welcoming and gracious. I would definitely recommend. We felt so at home here. I already miss it! Thank you Stacey, Jason and Nicole for your hospitality. Wishing you the absolute best and we will be back!
The apartment is fantastic. Situated in a great neighborhood. We had everything we needed and the supermarket downstairs went perfectly with the large kitchen and dining room in the apartment. Will definitely come back when we get the chance.
Wonderful week spent in this very comfortable and spacious appartement ! Everything ideal, very bright flat, well equiped with everything you need, perfect location with several tram lines (4, 7, 10), area of Utrechtstraat very nice, with numerous shops, restaurants and cafés . Nicole, Stacey's sister was there to welcome us and always ready to help, while we had direct contact with Jason and Stacey if needed. THe appartement looks very like to pictures, and even larger ! We'll be back for sure ! THANK YOU

Jason is a canadian/dutch game producing entrepreneur. Stacey is a creative designer and barista with chinese/surinamese origins. Both raised in Amsterdam we're a hardworking, social, caring and adventurous couple.
Stacey takes care of people around her, enjoys making a perfect cup of java and cooking surinamese soul food, while Jason 'the film critic' worked in asia a lot and is a sports fanatic who has a wide knowledge of almost everything and can share all this with you in amazing stories.
We live between Isle Wight, UK and Amsterdam with our baby girl, weird cat and idiotic dog. Love to watch movies and enjoy the company of family and close friends. And are proud house owners of our 'crooked old Amsterdam style house' located on an oasis of peace and green, but right smack in the city center. Here on AirBNB we offer typical Amsterdam apartments and very much like the concept of guests enjoying their stay in Amsterdam, local style. So feel free to have a friendly smoke!
If you have an early arrival or late departure, no problem. We are not a hotel and so are very flexible! During our absence Stacey's younger sister Nicole takes care of our guests and check ins.
