This is truly a magical place to visit, Julie is a wonderful hostess to ensure I was comfortable at all times, she is a very good cook as well, it's a great stop for halfway between Brisbane and Sydney, I definitely will be staying here again, the gardens and the surrounding rainforest just adds to the ambience of the place, lovely beaches close by as well.
Julie s house is so perfect.
Big rooms, very large pool, beautiful pass in the rain forest.
Julie is very welcoming and friendly. We recommand the place. The place is exceptionnal moreover Julie is full of skills and knowledge. Have a look to her gallery it is a very nice craft work and collection for sale.
Great stay at Yarralen retreat. We stayed just the one night but really enjoyed our time with Julie and would highly recommend this as a stop off or longer stay. Julie was a fantastic host and was very welcoming to us and another couple that were there. We had a really fun evening together - relaxed dinner with lovely company, topped off with a dip in the magnesium pool!
We stayed at Julie's house on our way back to Brisbane from Sydney. It was a lovely place to shake off the road fatigue, with a dip in the pool and a home cooked meal waiting for us. She provided us with lovely homemade breakfast goodies in the morning, and we enjoyed seeing her artwork. The house is close to the Pacific highway, but it feels like a remote tropical destination.

We got everything we could ever ask for and dream of at Yarralen Retreat! It was truly an amazing and outstanding experience. Julie as a host was warm and cheerful. Her house is one of a kind and contains lots of art. Enjoying relaxing days at the pool, in the middle of the subtropical forest was great. During the afternoon we walked her trails and viewed her property, we saw kangaroos 4 out of 5 days! And an iguana visiting the chicken house.
She has an artistic gallery, a chick house, a peacock, lots of fruit trees and own produced macadamias.
We woke up in the morning by the song of the birds and went to bed by the song of the grasshoppers. For us it was nice to experience a less populated part of Australia.
Julie also took us down to Stuarts point, so we could walk over the bridge and check at the beach, as well as to buy some groceries. She went a way for a day and a half and trusted us to take care of her wonderful house.
Thank you so much Julie, we won't forget our stay!
