Great value for the area. We never met Martin and didn't get help planning activities. The Cabinas are in Playa Negra which is a 20 minute walk outside the main town at Playa Blanca. Martin paid for a taxi there, but we lugged our bags back to town. The cabin was rustic as we expected, and included three rooms. They were clean and had mosquito nets (some bugs around but not a lot), but the walls were quite thin. In general it was a nice experience staying there!
The rooms were clean and tidy, if not a bit small, the shared toilet and shower were basic but clean, it was perfect for our needs, not centrally located so you get peace and quiet but not too far from the town centre so you can easily walk there. The kitchen was okay, it had a top stove, with enough kitchenware to get by on basic meals. The property has a beautiful pool, usually there are no other people there so you get it to yourself. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, it was luxury to us since we normally stay in hostels, the whole wooden cabin theme looked awesome and I highly recommend this property!
Cabinas Iguanas is your best bet when staying in Cahuita. Checking in and out was easy, and they kindly held onto our bags in reception after checking out until we were ready to leave town. The property is absolutely beautiful with bananas everywhere you could pick and eat. There is also a small pool that we didn't use. My boyfriend and I stayed in private room B with shared bathroom and shower (which were always clean and we never had to wait for them). The hammock right outside our bedroom was a nice touch. Wifi works great as well. The property is right outside of main town, but there are 2 restaurants/bars and a convenience store nearby. We loved waking up to the Howler Monkeys and walking over to the beach to watch the sunrise. We always had breakfast at Brigitte's where you can also book excursions. Don't forget to visit the national park! I loved staying here, thanks Martin!
