The place is lovely. Clean and tidy. The hosts were very nice and made sure that we were comfortable. They gave us a fan because of the hot weather. They were very organized and they had a binder with all the information regarding wifi accessed and restaurants around the neighborhood.
Thank you Jane for the experience, close enough to to Vancouver to see the city with ease and stay in such a beautiful area that you live in.
The accommodation was great with all the facilities we needed to make our stay so comfortable.
Staying with Jane and Doug was a wonderful experience for my mom and my first time in Vancouver. They insisted on greeting us upon our arrival, personally, even though our train had been late and we arrived after 2:30 am, which was very nice and unexpected. Their property was stunning in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. The surrounding village of Dundarave had very nice shops and restaurants within walking distance. Downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain, and the Capilano Bridge were all about a 20-30 minute drive. The bed was comfortable and there were hangers for our clothes. Doug and Jane were full of suggestions and answered all of our questions about how to get around in the city. They both were very accommodating, and I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay.
I booked this for my brother and sister-in-law, so I did not personally stay with Jane. They felt welcomed and comfortable. The weather was great so that they could enjoy breakfast in the garden. Jane and Doug were friendly, helpful and informative. Everything was as described and my relatives enjoyed their stay there. Thank you Jane for hosting them! Anne
This stay was one of my favourites. West Van is absolutely beautiful. Jane and Doug were very welcoming. The scones and treats that were left were above and beyond what is required but you can tell they love to host guests. I will definitely stay there again. This time for a longer period, hopefully that means Jane leaves more scones! If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet and accessible place for a business trip or vacation you may really want to consider this listing.
Scones & Tea was my friend and I's very first Airbnb experience, and we could NOT be happier! Jane and her husband were super accommodating. From the time we first contacted them about booking, she was in constant contact with us, giving us tips to make our arrival run smooth. I had let Jane know from the get-go that we were going to have a late arrival, which became even later after our cab driver got lost (his gps was down and we had to use an old Thomas guide map...).
We finally showed up around 12:30 at night, and they were very understanding and even helped us with our bags. They gave us the rundown, told us a few things about where we could find the buses and places to go, and showed us where the food was in the kitchen. Which, again, was super adorable! The scones were awesome, we unfortunately ate almost all of them that night...
We felt like we were staying in a cottage. I know I've mentioned the word adorable a few times, but there really is no other way to describe it. We were all set with our fridge stocked with jam, cream, peanut butter, milk and orange juice. We spent a nice morning drinking tea in matching tea sets in the cozy little nook.
The room was very clean and very comfortable. There's absolutely nothing about it I would change. And the location is great. Just a short walk to the nearest bus stop that takes you over the bridge into downtown Vancouver. It was really easy to get around, and everyone was really nice.
When it came time to leave, Jane and her husband helped us by directing us to the the right buses and subways to take, and which coach for us to hop on for our continued journey to Victoria. Had we not had their help, we probably would have spent a ton of money on a cab!
I would hands down recommend them to anyone! And if I ever make it back to Vancouver, I definitely know where to stay :)
Thank you so much to Jane and Doug! Wonderful hosts and we were completely comfortable for our 7 night stay. From a smiling greeting and the promised tea and scones everything was absolutely as advertised. A pleasant surprise was the level of hospitality, extensive kitchen and food staples, and the friendly interaction with our hosts every time we saw them. We never felt like strangers and we will be back on our next visit!
