Our stay at Melanie's apartment was great! The San Giovanni neighbourhood is beautiful – there are two supermarkets and lots of wonderful restaurants nearby. It was always surreal seeing the Colosseum just down the street. It is the perfect location.
Melanie was a great host and very attentive. When we needed another set of sheets to switch to the downstairs futon, she provided them within a day. It can be a bit noisy (because the window is next to the street) and humid (because it's below street level and we were there in rainy season) but otherwise it was lovely. The apartment had good heating, reliable wi-fi, TV, and all towels and bedding were provided. Melanie replied to our emails very quickly and was very helpful. I'd recommend her place!
Location is OK but not exceptionnal. Very noisy at night because of vehicles speeding by and passing at less than 10 meters from your bed. You definitely need to be a thin person if you want to get into the bathroom/shower. Cooking facilities are minimal. For the price, it's not such a great deal.
Melanie was very helpful from the beginning and Eduardo met me at the apartment after midnight on the first night which was nice of him. The apartment is pretty small but clean and very cosy. It also has a great location, right next to the Colosseum and the neighbourhood is safe and quiet. Unfortunately wifi didnt work during our stay which was inconvenient and the bathroom is tiny. In general however it was a great experience.
We had a wonderful time in Rome and really enjoyed Edoardo & Melanie’s flat. It was very nice and clean and the location was perfect - you can see the Coliseum right out the front door! When looking at flats in Rome we really wanted something that reflected the culture and architecture, this place was it – so charming! Also, Melanie helped arrange our taxi's to and from the airport which was very nice and make the commute really easy. The drivers were nice and professional with clean cars.
Melani was a pleasure to deal with via email. The place was clean and comfortable to stay in. Location was fantastic, when you leave the apartment you can see the colosseum at the end of the road. Lots of great places to eat around the area also.
Downside was the bathroom was VERY small and had a funny smell. The floorboards upstairs are very creaky and feel a little unstable. We had the air conditioning on through the night but would switch off when the bucket was full of water so had to drain it in the morning when we woke up. No natural light in the apartment, only has a very small window but when you open it, it is very noisy from the street traffic. Also after making the booking, we were advised we couldn't check in until after 6PM as cleaning was still to be done. A little bit inconvenient but we were able to drop our bags off at 4PM when the cleaning lady was in. Melani did apologise for the inconvenience but couldn't do much about it as she was out of town for business. She did promise a bottle of wine when we arrived which was no where to be found but wasn't much of an issue.
It was nice to stay in a real Italian apartment but when we came back to Rome after our Tour, we found the hotels to be more comfortable.
very nice place and location. but the low ceilings felt abit dungeony.
Melani was a great host! The location was perfect and she did more than expected to make sure my husband and I had a great stay. Could not have been happier!
