My family had such a great stay at Emer's listing. She was accommodating and very flexible with our check-in time, as we would be arriving late that evening. We were welcomed with fresh bread and jam, as well as milk and delicious Irish butter. The view is beautiful and there is plenty to do in the area. Emer was also quick to answer all of our questions. Highly recommended!
Emer is a fantastic host; very welcoming and communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. Emer was excellent at staying in touch and answering our questions about the house and area in advance, and gave us great directions.
The house is fabulous - very spacious and on 3 levels and there is everything you would need to be comfortable. Sofas and a good stereo in the living room (plus some great CDs and games), and a huge table and wood stove in the kitchen. A large cooker and lots of kitchen equipment was very useful for preparing meals which we did on most nights.
The area is gorgeous with panoramic views around the house, which is on the top of a hill. Guests should note it is rural. This didn't bother us at all.. Emer's place was a perfect base to explore the locals loughs, go for mountain walks, visit beaches, eat/drink/shop in Aughrim, Rathdrum, Arklow and spend time with friends living in Wicklow town.
Emer's property is a really special place and we feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay.
The house was perfect for our group. A real remote, peaceful place away from it all but surrounded by lush greenery. We didn't see Emer much but she kept in touch all through our stay to ensure we were fine. Very spacious, comfy beds and a nice bonus to have the fire on when we arrived later than expected on our first night. Would recommend!
The house is very comfortable with a lot of space. We really loved the fireplace because the weather was rainy and we spend some time in the house. The view from the house is amazing and it is a short drive to the national park.
I absolutely loved my stay here. I rented with a group for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding in Ballybeg House in Ballyglen which was about 15mins drive away. No issues getting taxis back and forth from there. Aughrim village is just a few minute drive down the road. I might just mention that the house is situated up a very steep and rocky road, but once you take it slowly there is no bother getting up it.
The house itself is absolutely gorgeous! Stunning views of countryside to look out on in the morning, very clean and spacious and we had loads of room to sleep everyone. Emer the host, made the stay really pleasant; so nice and accommodating - made sure we had wifi, taxi numbers, towels, even a bottle opener! Didn't feel rushed to checkout. I would definitely stay here again.
We were in the area for a wedding at Ballybeg House and this place was perfect for us, being about 15min drive away. Lovely farm house with loads of space, set in beautiful surroundings and with a log burning fire and an Aga. What more could you want? Thanks for having us!
Beautiful house, in a perfect location for the wedding we were attending.
I wish we could have stayed longer!
