We could not have been happier with our stay at Nicola's place in Camaiore. Located on a beautiful spot in the hills, it is surrounded by olive trees, vines and fig and nut trees, and has a forest behind it. It enjoys a wonderful view on the hills and sea.
Being quite secluded, away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and town, it is very quiet: just what we were looking for. Up in the hills the temperature is fresher than on the coast, with a delightful breeze coming from the sea. It is only short drive away from the sandy beaches of Versilia: what a pleasure to return to the house in the hills after a hot day at the beach, and enjoy the view of the sun setting from the lovely outdoor terrace.
The apartment is very tastefully furnished in Tuscan style, and fully equipped with all necessities, including screens on the windows to keep (most of) the bugs out. It is extremely clean, tidy, and welcoming.
Nicola's parents are lovely and kind people, always available for the guest's needs, for an interesting chat, and at the same time are very discreet hosts.Piero kindly led us up the road to the house at our arrival.
Nicola himself was very kind and available to answer our messages and take care of all our needs.
We came with our two very young children, aged 1 and 5, and we were made to feel very welcome. There is a bed for the baby, and our older daughter was comfotable in her room. The "children's" bathroom has a bathtub, which is very practical for washing little kids. And being that there are no indoor staircases, it is safe for toddlers. We all enjoyed relaxing and playing outdoors, and short walks and blackberry picking along the paths surrounding the house. For relaxing time indoors, there is a large flat screen TV and DVD player. So in our opinion, this place is very family-friendly. We would definitely return with pleasure, hopefully soon!
