Beautiful authentic room with private bathroom for rent in De Pijp.
The room has it's own entrance and is located on the second floor of a very authentic, old house. The street is next to the beautiful Amstel river and the pretty Sarphatipark.
The Pijp is known for it's lively, artistic atmosphere. Around here are many restaurants, cafes, galleries and lively daily market Albert Cuyp. Main attraction is the Heineken brewery. This area is more Amsterdam alike than the city center. This neighborhood is more working class and locals hangout.
The room is very centrally located in between the museum district (which is only a 15 min walk away) and the Amsterdam city center (which is in the other direction 10 min away from here).
The city center starts at the Utrechtsestraat, crossing all the canals heading towards Kalverstraat, the biggest shopping street in town.
Complete downtown area is doable by foot, or take the tram 4 or 3 which will take you anywhere downtown or train station to transfer for the train to the airport.
I would be happy helping you out where to go based on your personal interest, or sending you any information about concerts, theater or give you other suggestions which make your stay more convenient.
The environment is important to me! I use eco-friendly cleaning products for the room and laundry; solar panels reduce our power use; organic shower gel and soap; even the latest washing machine to use minimum water and detergent.
Guests will have access to their own private room and private bathroom shower room with toilet. Also provided is a mini fridge, microwave and cutlery. Towels and bedding is included.
Interaction with Guests
Guests can always ask me anything, anytime. I am always around or easy to reach by phone or email.
Lots off public transportation around my house. Two city trams 3 and 4 will take you everywhere down the city center. Also metro station, Amstel station and Central station are easy to reach from here.
Do not throw anything else than toilet paper in the toilet please!
Iris made me feel very welcome. The room was lovely and just as described. The bathroom was also lovely.
Iris was a brilliant host. She provided excellent directions and was there ready to welcome us when we arrived. She had a map for us, and spent half an hour talking to us about Amsterdam and showing us the best walking routes and giving us advice on what to do in our short stay there. Honestly, without that map we'd have had a tough time! Everything was clean and the bed is really comfortable, highly recommended!
Wij zijn bij aankomst vriendelijke ontvangen door Iris. Slaapkamer en badkamer zijn schoon en netjes. Tips die Iris gaf over Amsterdam waren nuttig en waardevol. prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding: goed.

I loved staying at iris' place!! It was walking distance to the rijksmuseum, van gogh museum, heineken brewery, canal tours, the zoo and many great places to eat or drink :)! Iris was a sweetheart and gave me good advice on the area. The room is perfect and exactly what one should expect when visiting the city! She even took me out to a gathering of ex-pats one night,I had a great time and was able to use her daughters bike to follow her to the meeting spot. All in all i loved my stay there and will totally re-book that room the next time i am in town for sure! She also had a great selection of teas and such in the room for my use :).The shower is great and the bed was amazing!! Go to Bloemers just around the block from her place for great food and awesome beer!
The apartment was cute quirky and clean :) not "B&B" just a "B" for bed. Heating was warm, shower was decent! No English tea bags or milk :( Iris was helpful showing us where to go on a map. The location is ok, won't mind walking everywhere as much in summer brrrr!!!

I am born and raised in Amsterdam. Next to Amsterdam I've lived in Cincinnati, Ohio (U.S.A) and at the countryside of France at the Dordogne. I used to travel a lot in the U.S.A and love cities like New York, Washington DC and Chicago. Bryce canyon was the most spectacular park I ever visited. I live alone with my two teenage daughters. For a while I went to the Art Academy, but quit because I preferred to become a dj. Finally I am working in hospitality for about 20 years. I wrote business plans for my own techno program for a nightclub a saladebar and 100% organic cafetaria. My b&b is an eco friendly one, it means I care about the environment and only offer and use organic products. I like to talk with my guests about Amsterdam or my biggest hobby electronic music.
