Beautiful authentic room with private bathroom for rent in De Pijp.
The room has it's own entrance and is located on the second floor of a very authentic, old house. The street is next to the beautiful Amstel river and the pretty Sarphatipark.
The Pijp is known for it's lively, artistic atmosphere. Around here are many restaurants, cafes, galleries and lively daily market Albert Cuyp. Main attraction is the Heineken brewery. This area is more Amsterdam alike than the city center. This neighborhood is more working class and locals hangout.
The room is very centrally located in between the museum district (which is only a 15 min walk away) and the Amsterdam city center (which is in the other direction 10 min away from here).
The city center starts at the Utrechtsestraat, crossing all the canals heading towards Kalverstraat, the biggest shopping street in town.
Complete downtown area is doable by foot, or take the tram 4 or 3 which will take you anywhere downtown or train station to transfer for the train to the airport.
I would be happy helping you out where to go based on your personal interest, or sending you any information about concerts, theater or give you other suggestions which make your stay more convenient.
The environment is important to me! I use eco-friendly cleaning products for the room and laundry; solar panels reduce our power use; organic shower gel and soap; even the latest washing machine to use minimum water and detergent.
Guests will have access to their own private room and private bathroom shower room with toilet. Also provided is a mini fridge, microwave and cutlery. Towels and bedding is included.
Interaction with Guests
Guests can always ask me anything, anytime. I am always around or easy to reach by phone or email.
Lots off public transportation around my house. Two city trams 3 and 4 will take you everywhere down the city center. Also metro station, Amstel station and Central station are easy to reach from here.
Other Things to Note
The twoo stairs to my room are steep!
Do not throw anything else than toilet paper in the toilet please!
Thank you Íris!
Our stay in Amsterdam was excellent thanks to the really lovely place you provided, and your wonderful city!
Thank you for your personal support calling the Tram company for us regarding our lost gloves. You were very helpful.
We'll defintely come back.
Obs.: The only important observation for the next guests is regarding the stairs which are tight, so take care when you have any disabilities (which is not our case).

Iris and the room were both wonderful. The room was comfortable, well situated in the city, easy to access, and nicely furnished. Iris was very friendly and helpful, offering advice on where to eat, drink, see music and pretty much anything else you might want to know about Amsterdam. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit this wonderful city!
We spent a very good time at Iris' home! Moreover with a 5-months-old baby.. Very cleaned and bright place, in a very nice area, close to all facilities. We will definitively come back. Thanks Iris!
Iris is a great host - she gave spot-on directions to her place, welcomed me personally, provided me with a map of the city including highlighted walking and tram routes to where I wanted to go, and the location is fantastic. The room and bath are simple, bright, clean and perfectly sufficient for anyone looking for a place to crash while exploring the vibrancy of Amsterdam.
Iris made me feel very welcome. The room was lovely and just as described. The bathroom was also lovely.

I am born and raised in Amsterdam. Next to Amsterdam I've lived in Cincinnati, Ohio (U.S.A) and at the countryside of France at the Dordogne. I used to travel a lot in the U.S.A and love cities like New York, Washington DC and Chicago. Bryce canyon was the most spectacular park I ever visited. I live alone with my two teenage daughters. For a while I went to the Art Academy, but quit because I preferred to become a dj. Finally I am working in hospitality for about 20 years. I wrote business plans for my own techno program for a nightclub a saladebar and 100% organic cafetaria. My b&b is an eco friendly one, it means I care about the environment and only offer and use organic products. I like to talk with my guests about Amsterdam or my biggest hobby electronic music.
