Beautiful authentic room with private bathroom for rent in De Pijp.
The room has it's own entrance and is located on the second floor of a very authentic, old house. The street is next to the beautiful Amstel river and the pretty Sarphatipark.
The Pijp is known for it's lively, artistic atmosphere. Around here are many restaurants, cafes, galleries and lively daily market Albert Cuyp. Main attraction is the Heineken brewery. This area is more Amsterdam alike than the city center. This neighborhood is more working class and locals hangout.
The room is very centrally located in between the museum district (which is only a 15 min walk away) and the Amsterdam city center (which is in the other direction 10 min away from here).
The city center starts at the Utrechtsestraat, crossing all the canals heading towards Kalverstraat, the biggest shopping street in town.
Complete downtown area is doable by foot, or take the tram 4 or 3 which will take you anywhere downtown or train station to transfer for the train to the airport.
I would be happy helping you out where to go based on your personal interest, or sending you any information about concerts, theater or give you other suggestions which make your stay more convenient.
The environment is important to me! I use eco-friendly cleaning products for the room and laundry; solar panels reduce our power use; organic shower gel and soap; even the latest washing machine to use minimum water and detergent.
Guests will have access to their own private room and private bathroom shower room with toilet. Also provided is a mini fridge, microwave and cutlery. Towels and bedding is included.
Interaction with Guests
Guests can always ask me anything, anytime. I am always around or easy to reach by phone or email.
Lots off public transportation around my house. Two city trams 3 and 4 will take you everywhere down the city center. Also metro station, Amstel station and Central station are easy to reach from here.
Other Things to Note
The twoo stairs to my room are steep!
Do not throw anything else than toilet paper in the toilet please!
Iris was great! She gave me a lot of information to discover amsterdam! Also she gave me a map and explein me how i can take the tram. It was very helpfull form us. The room is like the photos.
Lovely room with ensuite. So wonderful and Iris is great with amazing restaurant reccomendations. True the flat is quite far form the centre but just make sure you buy a metro ticket or rent a bike and you will be there in moment.
Thank you for this commend. I do wandering what you mean by city center which starts only two blocks away. The to busy touristic center next to the central station is 10 min away by tram ( the metro is much further away ). I am located on the more quiet, pretty side of the city center much closer to Museum area than the area around central station ( and crowded red light district).
Wonderful stay. I arrived later in the evening but my boyfriend met Iris earlier in the day. She was very easy to communicate with and helpful too. The room was bigger than expected. Very cozy and I love the view. The neighborhood was quite yet had plenty of food options. I could not have asked for anything more. Just great! I recommend Iris's B&B and will definitely stay if ever in Amsterdam again. And yes the stairs were small but not a problem plus added even more charm to the apartment. Oh and fantastic private bathroom!
She greeted us at the door and assisted us with our baggage up the steep stairs of her bnb. She took the time to give us a detailed map and recommended places to see and eat in Amsterdam. She also arranged taxi transport to the airport that was much more economical than the going rate. The driver was most courteous and personable. I would highly recommend persons who are not physically handicapped since the stairways are steep and narrow. Otherwise, she has a most pleasant room for guests.
We arrived at the apartment very late in the night, out of time but for Iris there weren't problems, she was very patient and gentle. The bedroom was very comfortable and full of all accessories. The bathroom was very clear and so nice with biological products. The house was in a typical dutch neighborhood, near Albert Kuypmarkt and all attractions (including Heineken experience), and also near many restaurants and coffees. Iris gave us many maps of the city and guides with all useful informations. Finally we were in totally privacy and we had an enjoying trip! Certainly we will come back in Amsterdam and in this house!
Iris was lovely and gave us plenty of great advice and the room was comfortable and gorgeous. we only stayed one night but it was a great night's sleep.
Thank you Íris!
Our stay in Amsterdam was excellent thanks to the really lovely place you provided, and your wonderful city!
Thank you for your personal support calling the Tram company for us regarding our lost gloves. You were very helpful.
We'll defintely come back.
Obs.: The only important observation for the next guests is regarding the stairs which are tight, so take care when you have any disabilities (which is not our case).

I am born and raised in Amsterdam. Next to Amsterdam I've lived in Cincinnati, Ohio (U.S.A) and at the countryside of France at the Dordogne. I used to travel a lot in the U.S.A and love cities like New York, Washington DC and Chicago. Bryce canyon was the most spectacular park I ever visited. I live alone with my two teenage daughters. For a while I went to the Art Academy, but quit because I preferred to become a dj. Finally I am working in hospitality for about 20 years. I wrote business plans for my own techno program for a nightclub a saladebar and 100% organic cafetaria. My b&b is an eco friendly one, it means I care about the environment and only offer and use organic products. I like to talk with my guests about Amsterdam or my biggest hobby electronic music.
