Situated on the edge of St Paul’s Bay, in an area still used by traditional fishermen, the maisonette is literally a minute’s walk down some steps to a swimming area with pristine water and a 10-minute bus ride away from some amazing beaches. But it is also conveniently close to food stores, bars and restaurants, while buses that go to several major attractions are just round the corner. It is perfectly positioned whether you want to be a beach bum or see all the sights, for a diving holiday or a walking trip, a laid-back weekend break or an adventurous vacation full of activities.
Across the road and down some steps you will find a little cove with crystal clear water reserved for swimmers, lying on the other side of a jetty where traditional Maltese fishing boats still berth.
A few steps away are bus stops on main routes that take you direct to major attractions such as Malta’s best beaches, the walled city of Valletta, Sliema’s shopping centres and harbour cruises, and the entertainment hot spots of Bugibba and Paceville.
A direct bus from the airport, the X1, takes about an hour to arrive. It stops 10 minutes away by walk at a bus stop called Roti, just around the bay from our place.
Just down the road is a lovely promenade that runs around the beautiful bay of Xemxija (Maltese for sunny).
Within 5 to 10 minutes’ walk are a number of small outlets that serve all your daily needs, from buying food to postal services, picking up a newspaper to renting a car.
Just a few minutes’ walk along the promenade are a dozen good but reasonably priced restaurants including Maltese, Italian, Chinese, Greek, and Indian, as well as a few bars and a couple of night spots.
A 10-20 minute bus ride will take you to the island’s most beautiful sandy beaches.
If you prefer a quieter swim, the maisonette is within easy reach of several small, secluded bays.
Nearby is the open countryside with walking trails that include an old Roman road.
It takes just 20-30 minutes to walk to the tourist zone of Bugibba, with its shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and nightlife. Here you can grab a Macdonald’s or spoil yourself with fine cuisine, purchase tours and book boat trips, enjoy an evening stroll or go dancing.
Nearby activities and attractions: Aquarium, waterpark, watersports, boat hire, leisure cruises, diving, tennis, horseriding, walking, bicycle hire, cinema, shopping, museums, old towers and churches, Roman remains and much more.
Parking is free, on the street, close by, never more than one or two minutes away by walk and even closer in the off-peak months.
Other Things to Note
The house is just up the street from a main road, which makes it extremely convenient for catching the bus to major attractions.

Our stay in Malta was fantastic, Mark was extremely kind and helpful and a great communicator pre and during the stay. The house was as described with all facilities as mentioned. The location of the house was great with easy access to buses. We would highly recommend anyone looking to stay at this property
WOW! Thank you Mark for allowing me to stay in your home. I've fallen in love with St Paul's Bay. What a beautiful spot and what a stunning apartment! The position was perfect, a few steps to the local bathing spots and bus stop that took me all over Malta. Thank you Mark for the fresh fruit that you left for me to enjoy. I would recommend Mark's apartment to anyone wanting to taste the real Malta, it was as easy as jumping on the bus, or simply just walking!
Mark goes above and beyond to make his guests happy - we were collected from the airport, shown around the local area and greeted on arrival to the holiday home with some local treats! I particularly like Mark's attention to detail and efficiency - the house is immaculate and was cleaned half way through our 2 week stay. The kitchen is fully functional and essentials are provided. Mark has a lot of travel literature in the house so you can sit down and plan out your holiday properly. He even arranged our cab back to the airport. Can't fault a thing. Thanks again Mark!
Mark is friendly and generous with his hospitality skills. Everything in the small converted fisherman’s quarter is exactly as advertised. It’s comfortable and relaxing, very convenient walk to the beach, which is literally across the street. The town center is also within walking distance if you’re fit. 20-25 minutes walk away.
My husband and I enjoyed it very much except for traffic noise.
Mark and his wife were extremely welcoming and helpful! The house was exactly as described and the location was perfect. The bus stop was right around the corner and allowed us to get to wherever we needed. It was a wonderful first Airbnb experience!
Mark and his wife were absolutely brilliant hosts. They were incredibly friendly, chatty and helpful - popping over throughout our stay to give us ideas of places to visit and answer any questions. As is always very welcome with an airbnb stay, they provided a booklet for our stay with lots of helpful information, leaflets, maps etc.
We are welcomed with a basket of local goodies upon arrival which was a lovely touch!
The house itself is great - just as gorgeous as it looks in the photos and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Love St.Paul's as a base (no hideous tourist traps in sight)
Have been to Malta several times and I'm sure will be coming back and staying here again!
About the Host, Mark
I am married with a boy of 12. Our current project as a family is doing up our new (old) house, next door to the property advertised here, and running this holiday home together. We'll be your "friendly hosts", always at hand if you need help to make your stay a more fulfilling and enjoyable one.
