Bedford-Stuyvesant, popularly known as Bed-Stuy (sounds like: Bed-Sty) or Stuyvesant Heights, is located in central Brooklyn and nudges up against Williamsburg. A historic neighborhood that boasts pristine brownstones, a tight-knit community and cadre of locally-owned bars, restaurants, cafes and wine bars.
The express A and C trains at Utica Avenue are directly across the street from the apartment. Please sit in the back of the train if you are arriving from Manhattan. I can also offer you a complimentary taxi credit; and you can get a $10-$30 credit towards your first ride. Download the app UBER (in your country) and use the code 5wuv0.
1. I've put a lot of love and care into creating a comfortable space. Please take good care of it and keep it clean!
2. No Smoking in the apartment or within the immediate vicinity of the premises.
3. Please turn off the Air Conditioner and the TV when leaving the room. It is not economical to have it running all day.
4. Any damage done to property or items missing from the unit, will be your responsibility and will be deducted from your deposit.
5. This is New York City, anything can happen! Please know that in the 7 years I have lived here I have never had any security problems. However, please use your new city-smarts when walking around late at night. Stay alert, don't be preoccupied with your phone or ipod, know where your keys are etc.
The property was just as described! Cozy, very clean. Travelling alone but room for a couple. The tray with bottled water and snacks was a very nice touch. The unit faces onto the back yard so traffic noise was minimized. Would absolutely recommend and stay there again!
We had an amazing time at Makini's place. It was everything we needed for our trip (especially the proximity to the subway). Check in and check out times might be improved to accommodate individual flights, but luckily we had a friend's place to leave luggage at while we explored a little more.
Makini was very responsive and super polite. She made my first airbnb experience a good one.
The place itself was a little bit smaller than we thought from the pictures, but that was probably due to our imaginations. It was the perfect size for two people to stay comfortably. Thanks, Makini!
Makinis apartment was very welcoming. she had a welcome tray for us upon arrival and had her mom greet us and show us around because she couldn't be there at the time. It was really clean and just as she explained it. The building itself is also easy to find and just across the park from a subway station which takes you directly to Manhattan.
We had a perfect first time in New York and enjoyed the stay at Makini's place ver much. Unfortunatly we didn't meet her in person but her lovely mom Rose took care of everything.
The apartment was as described and shown in the pictures. It is perfect for two people and the neighbourhood is really quiet. The subway is just 2 min away and you're very fast in Manhatten / Downtown.
When we arrived the fridge was filled with free drinks and also a lot of snacks. her mom even bought us a apple pie! We got some nice hints for lunch and dinner in the neighbourhood, too. A supermarket is around the corner, so if you need anything, there you go.
After all, it was a great experience and we can highly recommend to stay at Makini's place. We look forward to stay at her place again next year!
I loved the experience! the apartment is really well located and is exactly as shown in photos. clean, organized and full of treats ( as treats in the fridge ) . Makini is available and kind. I had some problems with transportation and with communication (with the heavy traffic). Makini remained patient and fulfilled all combined and more!
The apartment is clean, comfortable and warm. It is conviniently located next to the subway, express train to Manhattan available. The place is exactly like the photos and the neighborhood is very quiet. I do recommend it.

I am so elated to be an Airbnb host! It was my childhood dream to own a brownstone and eight years ago, I made that dream a reality when I purchased this home is historic Stuyvesant Heights/BedStuy. I have put a lot of thought into creating comfortable and well designed spaces that I am really proud of. I look forward to hosting you!!!
