  • This was my first Airbnb experience and was absolutely great. Makini is a great host, very flexible with my late check in and check out, quick to respond to any email and any kind of request I had. The studio is exactly as pictured, very comfortable and clean with subway just few steps away. Area is very quiet I never felt uncomfortable. I used taxis late in the night from Manhattan little bit expensive but worth coming back in such a quiet place. I will recommend for sure.

  • This was my first stay using airbnb and it was fantastic. The apartment was exactly as pictured - very clean, well decorated, and just steps away from the subway. My 7 year old daughter and I stayed and she absolutely loved the decor. She said, "Mom. Look at all the details"! I would highly recommend staying here. Makini was a wonderful host. Very gracious, welcoming, and quick to respond to any question I had.

  • Thanks for a wonderful stay in this apartment! The place is quiet, secluded-feeling, and very restful -- a great place to return to after a day in Manhattan. The bed is wonderful! Even though Makini had to leave town unexpectedly before we arrived, we were still able to pick up the keys with no problems at all from her friend and everything went perfectly smoothly. This part of Bed-Stuy was unfamiliar for us and we enjoyed exploring the area a little bit, especially our dinner at Peaches, a great southern-comfort-food restaurant. The A-train is not only across from the apartment but has very frequent express trains into Manhattan, so it was also a convenient location, fun to be so near the Lower East Side.

  • I recently stayed in Makini's place and it looks exactly as the picture. It was very pretty. Before I arrived Makini had contacted me telling me she had to leave on an emergency trip and left someone in charge. When I got to the apartment it wasn't as clean as Makini mentioned. One of the things that had made me stay in Makini's was how much she emphasized in this matter. Since she was out of the country wrote an e-mail to her notifying the situation. Makini immediately contacted me apologizing for everything and coordinated a cleaning crew to go to the placed. Makini tried everything possible to make up for the situation which at the end made me feel special, and really showed me that she cared about having a clean and pretty place. I would totally recommend this place. Makini, is super nice and responsible, the apt is very cute and the metro station is very close. This place has it all.

  • We had a great four-nights-stay at Makinis Studio in Brooklyn. Makini could not be there when we arrived, but her aunt Joyce waited for us at the Studio and gave us all useful information. She had been wonderful to us and even picked us up at the subway station, when we got lost on our way to the studio. This although we arrived there lately! Lots of thanks to her! In the studio we had everything we needed and were happy to come back to the silent studio after Sightseeing in Manhattan. Makini even left us some fruits!

To the location of the studio: It is just a few minutes away from a subway station and it takes you about 30 Minutes to Manhattan. We often came back to the studio very lately (around Midnight) and this has never been a problem. Many people got off the subway at this station, so that we felt safe.

    We really recommend Makinis Studio!

Lots of greets from Isabell & Laura from Germany :)

  • Makini was a great host. She was flexible with our arrival and check out times, and was very helpful and also available to answer questions. We loved the room and the private bathroom had a great tub. Lots of space, and we were able to cook our own meals. It was also great because the subway was just a few feet away and we could easily get to all of our activities. We would definitely stay here again!

About
Born in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I am a proud Trinidadian/Brooklynite. I own a boutique floral and event design company that specializes primarily in weddings. I am so elated to be offering my studio apartment on Airbnb! It was my childhood dream to own a brownstone and seven years ago, I made that dream a reality when I purchased this home is historic Stuyvesant Heights/BedStuy. Although I am still new to Airbnb, I have put a lot of thought into creating a comfortable and well designed space that I am really proud of. I look forward to hosting you!!!
