Really nice and clean house for our family get together. The pictures do a good job of showing the main floor of the house, which is nicely decorated and grand. The main room, with the open kitchen, dining table and living room was a great space to spend a lot of time in. The kitchen is well equipped for any cooking one wants to do. Having the bedrooms split between the main floor and the lower level was a nice way to give folks their own privacy. There are plenty of bathrooms, and a large yard with a small play structure and trampoline if you have kids.
Marva was very responsive to some questions we had during our stay.
The listing accurately represents the house, which is spacious and comfortable. A minor maintenance issue and questions were addressed right away. The proximity to Mt. Holly Ski Resort is convenient.
Marva's house is wonderful! We used all 5 bedrooms and everyone agreed the beds were all very comfortable. The split bathroom downstairs worked well for 4 girls to get ready (shower & tub are in own room) and two different toilet locations. The kitchen had everything we needed - spices, pots/pans, pitchers for water - appliances all worked great and plenty of room to sit at counter and at table. Very short drive into Holly (6 min). We had a delicious lunch at Bittersweet Cafe and then shopped along the main street and down Battle Alley. All of the shopkeepers were very friendly and had great prices. We also ventured down to the Indian Springs Metropark which has a great paved hike/bike path that is mainly in the woods - very pretty place. It took just over an hour to get to Michigan State (we took the southern route). Sushi at Sansu (SE corner of campus) was fantastic and then had to get Ice Cream at the MSU Dairy - yum!
Marva was very quick to respond to questions and was lovely to communicate with.
Thank you Marva for opening your home to us - it was exactly what we needed!
Marva was a terrific host. Her home was lovely and it was wonderfully decorated. She was very easy to communicate with and assisted in anyway that was asked of her. We were staying in Michigan for our sons wedding and needed a large home to accommodate 10. We also chose to have the rehearsal dinner at the home. We were able to use the extra tables, chairs and place settings for a more intimate dinner with our families. We did all the cooking in her spacious kitchen, which is well supplied. We created some wonderful memories and would definitely stay in this home again.
Marva was the absolute best! Great communication and even helped us out by stocking some kid friendly food after our long day of travel from California. I cannot sing her praises enough!
We had a great time at this location! It was spacious and clean, and provided a fantastic space for our family (7 adults and 4 children) to spend time together comfortably while visiting the area. We especially enjoyed the open design around a large kitchen, dining area, and living room, which is where we spent most of our time. Also, the kids enjoyed the large yard and trampoline. The host was friendly, welcoming, and very available for questions. She was also very responsive, including making some repairs she anticipated might be necessary during our first day there.
The house was beautiful and we were very comfortable in it.
