The Creek House is a 1063 sqft home in Midpines, a Yosemite gateway community. It's a 30 minutes drive to Yosemite National Park boundary. The cool refreshing Merced River is a 10-minute drive for swimming. The historic town of Mariposa is 15 minutes drive. We are an 8-acre ranch in the oak trees. The hillside is open above the house.

The space
The house is in an 8-acre property with a quiet atmosphere. The big windows and patio doors offer a view of the surrounding area. Wild turkeys, deer, and other wildlife can sometimes be seen around the property. The big sliding door and French door by the living area provide sunlight and a cool breeze while you sip your coffee in the morning. You can listen to the birds and the breeze blowing through the Oak trees. The master bedroom has a sliding door that offers a view of the outside and has a huge bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has big windows with a view of the trees and mountains. A second bathroom is easy access from the living room/kitchen and next to the second bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with what you need to make a hearty meal. With big windows/patio doors and a high ceiling, it has the feel of open space. There's a guidebook and other Yosemite books in the living area for your reference and reading enjoyment. The property has a year-round creek and 2 seasonal creeks. The stargazing is so beautiful. Please do understand that we are in a rural area. The Wi-Fi is complimentary. We do not guarantee its reliability because of the rural location. It is not part of what we charge for the house and is free!
The location is 30 minutes to the Yosemite boundary and one hour to Yosemite Village. It is an amazing drive along the Merced River. Be ready to take extra time for photo stops. Please do include children in your guest count, if children are part of your group. So that we may properly accommodate you.

We have a 12000 Watt backup generator to power the house if the need arises. So you can book knowing you won't have to worry.

Guest access
You have access to pretty much the whole 8 acres. The 12 acre BLM land is adjacent to the back of the property. We are in close proximity to acres of National Forest Land and of course The Spectacular Yosemite National Park. Or you can just relax on your patio and take in some star gazing.

Please do include children in your guest count if they are part of your group. So that we may properly accommodate you.
We provide free internet. However, we do not guarantee the reliability of the system due to our rural area! We do have a brand new DSL hooked up to the house. We also have a brand new 12000 watt backup generator should the need arise. So you can book with confidence
Remember this is a rural area! This is not the city. If you can't handle being in the woods and what comes with it (i.e. Bugs, bats, scorpions, bears, mountain lions, harsh weather conditions, floods, rock slides, fires, earthquakes) then you may want to prep yourself before coming to Yosemite. Nature has a lot to offer, rivers, sunsets, hiking, wild animals and flowers, beautiful mountain views, and fresh air! Come on up!

Neighborhood highlights

We are in a rural area. The peace and quiet are good for the soul. The town of Mariposa is a 15 minute drive for dining and shopping. We are also a 5 minute drive to a rustic restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. The area is safe for biking and walking and the neighborhood surrounded by trees and mountain views.
