Le Stnze del Vaticano- Leo X 3beds

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Piazza Adriana, Rome, Lazio 00193, Italy

The Space

Located a stone’s throw from the banks of the Tiber and 500m from Saint Peter’s Basilica, thanks to its top-floor location on Piazza Adriana Le Stanze del Vaticano boasts breath-taking views of the ancient papal fortress of Castel Sant’Angelo, whose imposing fortifications are quite literally across the road from our front door.
Recently refurbished to very high standards, Le Stanze del Vaticano offers guests 3 triple-bedroom suites, all of which can be converted to 2-bed according to your needs. All our suites - named after Rome’s most famous Popes – benefit from brand new furnishings, en-suite bathrooms, TVs and free Wi-Fi, while our “Leone X” suite has the added bonus of a magnificent view.

Breakfast is provided by renowned local eatery Gran Caffè Cavour.

We hope that Le Stanze del Vaticano will be your springboard for exploring Rome, and with the Vatican less than 5 minutes’ walk away, Castel Sant’Angelo and the “Bridge of Angels” just across the street, and the bustling streets of the Centro Storico with their sights and shopping less than half a mile away (not to mention Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori, and Trastevere, all within a mile radius, with Piazza Venezia, the Coliseum and the Forum just a short bus ride away) there is no reason why it shouldn’t be.

We are a family-run, typically Roman establishment and we will be more than happy to advise you on sightseeing and the best places to eat out in our neighbourhood. Private guided tours to Rome’s main tourist attractions, with fully bilingual and registered guides, are also available on request.
(Please note that we also offer private, secure parking in our building upon request)

Le Stanze del Vaticano is located half a mile from the “Ottaviano – San Pietro” Metro station and is easily accessible from Termini Central Station by Bus, Metro or Taxi. Guests can also take a train to San Pietro Train Station directly from Fiumicino Airport by changing at Trastevere Station.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Clean and spacious apartment in a great location. The host was very friendly and ready to help. It was vacation for my parents who do not speak neither Italian nor even English. But in spite of that they felt very comfortable and I was always sure there is someone in Rome who can take care of them.
    Very impressed and highly recommend.

  • We stayed here in March 2014. Overall it was a great stay -- although our visit was short, we were still able to see almost everything on our list. The location was easy to get to/from by bus at the nearby Piazza Cavour. The view from our window was Castel Sant'Angelo which was extremely enjoyable. On the map, it appears closer to Vatican City than it really is -- which was our fault for not investigating further, but made us late for the tour. It really takes a good 30-35 minutes to get there by foot and you'd want to allow even more time if you're not familiar with where you're meeting your tour.

For all of the other hot spots (Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Colisseo, Spanish Steps, etc.) we were able to do in the same day walking. We just started at Piazza Navona which is about a 10-15 minute walk and carried on from there.

As for the room, it was a large size for two people and had plenty of space. The bathroom included a hairdryer and we had towels for every night of our stay. We did not meet Giulio during our stay, but Alessandra met us when we arrived and was in contact via email during our stay. She was very helpful.

Our only cons were that we were charged 10 Euro for arriving after 4 p.m. even though we notified in advance that our train wasn't going to get in until 6 p.m. We wouldn't have cared about this except we weren't told about the fee until 2 days before we arrived. Additionally, we were not supplied with enough toilet paper for our visit and the towels were a little dingy and old.

One more tip: just past Piazza Cavour there is a small grocery -- strongly recommend purchasing your souvies from there. The prices were about 1/5 of what they were at the actual souvie shops. We got great wine, pesto, pasta, etc. from there.

  • There were some communication problems with arriving, but we got there. The room is beautiful, big and the view is nice. Bring your earplus the street is a bit noisy. Giulio isn't at the apartment but you can call him, he was very helpfull. I really would recomment this place to stay during a trip in rome. Breakfast is Italian (sweet stuf) in a place near the appartment.

  • Giulio's place is about a 30 minute walk to the Vatican with nearby shops and restaurants. Breakfast is provided at a cafe around the corner. It is important to note that he requests a check-in after 4pm or advance arrangements for earlier check in as his work is not nearby the location. He was very eager to please and sought to address the few problems that arose.

  • Very nice location so close to the Vaticano. The appartment is nice, quite big with a nice view on Andriana place.

  • We enjoyed our stay a lot. The building is beautiful, the room was clean, spacious enough for two people with an extra sofa bed. It is conveniently located a short walk distance from the Vatican, and about 10 mins walk from a subway station. Please note that check in is at 4pm, not earlier. This caused us some trouble the day we were arriving in Rome, we were not able to reach Giulio earlier that day, but eventually he called back to apologize for the inconvenience, and we got in a bit after 4. Otherwise, our stay was fine and we will definitely consider going back next time!

  • My husband and I had a great stay here. It was our first time in Rome and this location was perfect for that. We were within walking distance of the Vatican/St. Peter's square (5 minutes), the center of Rome (15-20 minutes), and the Trastevere neighborhood (10 minutes). Clean and comfortable room, and Giulio is a great host and was happy to give recommendations upon request. It's a great deal and we would stay again!

  • We booked two rooms and we loved the rooms. We felt completely at home. Both rooms are very spacious and have a bathroom with shower. The hot water worked perfectly. One room has a fantastic view of the Castel Sant'Angelo, the other has a balcony overlooking the courtyard. There's also a small kitchen with refrigerator. The breakfast in the neighbourhood cafe was delicious.
The place is centrally located and all the sights are within walking distance.
Giulio was a very nice and friendly host and provided us with everything we needed. He even recommended some great record shops. If we go back to Rome again, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Giulio!

Hi!, I am Giulio i love to interact with people from around the world, I love cinema and music. I am a sailor and as a natural cosequence I am often by the sea, it is a fundamental part of my life. As a Host I like to suggest nice things to do or good place where to eat, since I would love others to do the same thing for me. I studied three years in London(UK) and lived the rest of my life here in Roma and due to this I consider myself able to understand needings of people that must adapt to Italy's life. If you were thinking about having a little trip, Rome and Me are waiting for you!
