Daniel, Rosa and their family were warm and lovely hosts. Here are what I thought about my stay: -Location was good just 20-30 min walk from the city center. It was really helpful that they offered a pickup at the Airport. -Room was very clean and lovely. Also, the view at night was fantastic!!! My room was a little cold but Rosa offered me a jacket, so I could sleep very well. -Dinner that Rosa cooked was delicious. Also, I enjoyed the conversation with the family during the dinner. They were friendly and tried to understand me though my Spanish was not very good. It was interesting to know what the life in Cusco was like. -Tours they offer are highly recommended. My friend and I were planning to go to Yucai from Cusco by colectivo but Daniel offered a tour and it was fun. He took us to a textile center and a market in Chinchero on the way. Also, his son, Danny gave us a ride to Maras and Ollantaytambo the following day with a lower price than the market price. I would like to visit Daniel's farm next time! I like this family and wish I could have stayed longer...! Hope to see you again and you're always welcomed in Tokyo or San Francisco:)

My sisters and I loved this airbnb. We felt at home! Daniel and Rosa were very welcoming and helpful. Rosa made the best meals, very delicious! Daniel helped organize our trip to Machu Picchu and was our tour guide there. He's very funny and knowledgeable. We had great conversations with him and an overall great time! We will be visiting again in the future.

Staying here was perfect ! It is a bit far from the main center, about a 30 minute walk. But other than that Daniel is a sweet kind person who will help you out with whatever you need. Would recommend setting up pick up at the airport as the location is a bit confusing to find at first. Over all great stay!

The view was amazing and most of all the rooms and private bathroom was clean with warm showers. The host was so friendly like a family member and offered traditional breakfast and to take us around the city which they know everything about. We really enjoyed so much about staying at this home and had the hosts help us in any way possible. They made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. I loved waking up to the sunshine and being on the hill and close to the historical centre. We loved staying here, it was one of my favorites :)

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE We have seen the great comments from pervious guests and thought the host was a friendly person. But unfortunately had a really unhappy, disappointing and angry experience which has never happened from my numerous stays at other bnbs. When we arrived and picked up by host, everything was alright, host was friendly to listen to our travel plan. But after we told him we didn't need a guided tour for Machu Picchu and breakfast for the following days, THINGS STARTED TO CHANGE. **** MONEY SCAM, HIDDEN RULES & HIDDEN CAMERA **** There were many things we required, needed to be charged. Those charges and hidden rules were not listed on the host's Airbnb page before. 1) "10 soles payment for each time of using the kitchen, even it's just used for boiling water" stated by the house owner. The payment was said to be a ‘tips’, however, it was NECESSARY to pay. It was pretty cold in Cusco and we needed some hot water to warm ourselves. We asked for some hot water but they didn't provide us. So, we have to pay him for boiling hot water. Hot water is a basic need, hard to imagine guests needed to pay 10 soles for that. We have talked to the host, he just said "Now we know that Chinese people like to use kitchen to boil water" and even told us that we could only boil water ONCE a day. 2) Prohibited to use hot water for washing clothes by hands. My mum and aunt took a hot shower and had a quick wash of the clothes by hands during the shower. One day, the host told us he knew that we use water to wash the clothes. We were completely shocked that we couldn’t do that. What more shocking was, how did he know we washed the clothes? I really suspected that there would be a HIDDEN CAMERA in the bathroom. 3) Taxi fee was higher than average if called by host. We asked a taxi via host to plaza de armas and supermarket in city centre, it charged 25 soles which was higher than average, comparing to Easytaxi (taxi calling app). We found a taxi by ourselves to Poroy station, much further away from city centre, picked up at 7am, 30 minutes ride and the cost was just 25 soles. ****BOYCOTT and UNFRIENDLY HOST**** 1) It seemed that the host didn’t welcome the guests to use the kitchen, claiming that it was busy for preparing food for other guests. To avoid inconvenience for house owner, we decided to get hot water from neighborhood and stores nearby by paying some money. They were friendly and helpful on the first day. However, at the day after that, they refused to talk to us and helped after knowing where was our stay. Also, several new guests checked in at the last night of our stay. We have never met before but one of the guests went mad at complaining...

1. Nicest hosts Rosa and Daniel are two of the nicest people my boyfriend and I have ever met. Rosa came to the airport an entire hour before the scheduled arrival time because she says occasionally the flight might be early. She is very hospitable, kind, and generous. She treated us like her own children. The food she cooked was tasty, and she always offered us snacks and hot tea for free after a long day's trip. Daniel is a great tour guide (quite a character, humorous and has many wise quotes). The fee he charges is $20-$50 below market rate. We did the Machu Picchu tour and the Sacred Valley tour with Daniel, and it was an enjoyable experience. Another guest at the place had her birthday during the stay, and Rosa made a chocolate cake to surprise her. They are that nice! 2. Good place The room and views from the house exceeded our expectation for $10 per person per night. It was clean. Bathroom was nice - hot shower and everything. The view was fantastic. Some may say the location is a bit off, but bear in mind that this is not a hotel - this is home-stay! And Rosa and Daniel will always get you a taxi. Bring your earplugs, as there might be some dogs barking around during the night. We still managed to sleep very well. 3. Incident I have to mention this. The were 4 Cantonese-speaking guests who stayed roughly during the same time as we did. We learnt from Manuel that they were extremely rude and disgraceful, and asked Rosa what happened. Here is what they did: (1) For several times, they waked Rosa and Daniel up very late at night after they were asleep, simply asking for hot water. They wanted excessive hot water, many times a day. (2) They also asked to cook in the kitchen, made a mess, and asked Rosa to do the dishes and clean up the mess. (3) Since they used excessive gas, they were asked to pay a little extra, but they refused. Knowing they were not welcome to use the kitchen anymore, they WENT AHEAD TO KNOCK ON A NEIGHBOR'S DOOR AND TRIED TO COOK THERE INSTEAD... (we have never heard of anything like this after years of traveling) My boyfriend was really angry when learning about this, but decided to let it go since we hadn't even met them at first. However, at about 10pm the night before we left, one of them knocked again on Rosa's door for a long time, non-stop. My boyfriend was in the corridor at the moment. After learning that all she wanted was an extra pillow, he told her that she was not supposed to disturb the hosts this late (he thought Rosa and Daniel were asleep, but they were actually downstairs), that we learnt about their awful behaviors, and that they really should learn to be more respectful, o/w no one would respect them. Another man...
