I stayed 3 nights with Manuel family before start the MP trip. It s warm welcome atmosphere they had given to me by the first time we met. I contacted Manuel before booking the room with him, he gave me all reliable and useful information not only about his place but the tour and everything you might need it. I have plan going Machu Pichu trek by an alternative trekking route rather than famous inca trail. Manuel did help me a lot on that, he offered me other option on Salkantay trek another amazing route to MP ,the private tour that tailored to all my need, such as flexible on trip schedule just in case your physical health is not ready for the trip yet, accommodation options from camp site to stay in home stay with local during the trek, and the transport options either by train or bus on the way back to Cusco. His father is a licensed tour guide which fluency in english and knew all history and information about the area , the local so you will have great experience there. The trip with him was impressed for his services and he will ensure everything is safe for you. After the end of the tour at MP he would love to accompany you back to Cusco if that time he has no other trips. The tour itself is worth every penny you spent and the price is cheaper than the other tour companies. Highly recommend staying with this family and taking the tour with them. Would be there and stay with them again. Thank you to the whole family.
I had a great time with Manuel and his family! These are the most kind and caring hosts I have ever experienced. It was much more than staying overnight at a homestay - it was like finding a new family and feeling at home all the time.
Manuel picked me up from the airport and immediately took care of my altitude shock by welcoming me in his house. His place is located on a hill overlooking the whole city and the views from the terrace are spectacular. The house itself is very clean, convenient and has everything you might need. To reach the main square you can take a quick taxi ride or walk approx. 25 min. which is a nice walk and very easy to find your way. You can have meals with the family and Manuel's wife Stefanie is a great cook. The family is ready to help with any question or request you might have and on top of the information and help I got from them, I also enjoyed long talks with these extremely intelligent and kind people. Manuel and his father Daniel speak perfect English, so it was a great help for me as a non-Spanish speaker. And the biggest thanks to them is the way they treated me when I got sick - they were taking superb care in helping me to recover, a deed that made me feel surrounded by true friends and something I will never forget.
Daniel is also a licenced tour guide and I made with him an unforgettable private tour, combining traditional trekking and going away from the tourist paths and staying with native families in coffee farms in the jungle area! Daniel can give you a lot of information, advices and of course organise a tour customized to your preferrences. Manuel helped me a lot also to organize the rest of my trip by giving me advice, calling for bus and hotel reservations and offering me to contact him anytime I might need.
I recommend this homestay as the best choise in Cusco!
Thank you my friends for the great time spent with you!

Manuel and his family was extremely helpful and welcoming. This was our first trip to South America and we had such an amazing experience. We booked tours through Manuel with his father Daniel and we saw many of the Incan ruins. I would highly recommend Manuel to my friends and family. From the moment he picked us up at the airport to the moment we left we felt safe and surrounded by family. If you are looking to experience Peruvian culture this is the place. When we go back to Peru this is where we will stay.
I recently spent six months in Cusco as a study abroad student. instead of living in a home stay through my program I decided to find my own housing. During the six months that I lived with Manuel and his family, I met well over twenty other travelers who stayed in the house. Everyone felt right at home, from mother daughter traveling duos, retired couples, and solo adventurers. I was impressed by how different all the guest were, and even more impressed by how well Manuel could accommodate for everyone’s needs. Manuel attended hospitality school and has about a decades experience in the hotel industry and it shows. There was never a guest who left feeling unsatisfied with their stay.
Manuel’s father is by far the best tour guide I have ever had. I visited several historical sites including Machu Picchu with Daniel and then later with various tour guides selected by my study abroad program. Daniel’s knowledge and style is far superior to any of the other guides I had. It is a truly unique and personal experience. Daniel will accommodate for the time you have available, your interests, and your budget.
Manuel’s mother, wife, and sister are all incredible cooks! If you want genuine Peruvian meals you will not be disappointed. I don’t think I ever found a restaurant with better lomo saltado than Manuel’s wife Stephanie made at home. She also makes wonderful soups that originate from her home town of Arequipa.
The house itself is in a great location offering views overlooking the city. Walking to the central square takes less than thirty minutes, or take a cab and be there in five minutes. The Cruz Del Sur bus station is less than a ten minutes’ walk down the hill. The airport is an easy taxi or bus ride away or Manuel can pick you up in their personal car, about a ten minute ride. It was very reassuring to see Manuel was there waiting at the airport when I first arrived.
I always felt safe walking around the neighborhood at any time. I never had any problems while walking home late from the central square. This neighborhood proved to be safer than several of the neighborhoods other study abroad students were placed in by study abroad programs.
There is WiFi throughout the house, a computer upstairs, always clean beds and a hot shower downstairs. Sometimes hot water would can run out but if everyone just takes quick showers this shouldn't be a problem. They also recently installed a brand new kitchen!
If you are looking to stay in Cusco look no further, Manuel will take care of you. There were several times when Manuel went above and beyond to ensure that all his guests had a great stay. When you stay with Manuel you become a part of the family, and you will truly feel at home.
My trip to Cusco was an experience of a lifetime. Staying with Manuel at his house turned out to be the best thing to happen for my friend and I. Their house is located very close (walking distance or a cheap taxi ride) to virtually anything, with an amazing view of the city. Manuel and his family were very welcoming and ready to help us with anything we needed. From trips to and from the airport, to meals at any time of the day, or offering advice about the local area, they made our trip much easier and enjoyable. My friend and I decided to have Manuel's father, Daniel (a tour guide himself), give us his tour of all the famous places in Cusco. We got to see everything Cusco and the surrounding areas have to offer (including Machu Picchu). If we would have tried to plan this trip on our own, we would not have gotten to see half of what they showed us. I would recommend their house and tour to anyone looking to explore the area of Cusco. If I were to ever visit again, I would stay with them again in a heartbeat. We were only with them for 10 days, but we consider Manuel and his family our close friends.
Staying at Manuel's was like arriving home. The view is amazing, the rooms cozy and Manuel and his family make you feel extremely comfortable and help you out with anything and EVERYTHING you could possibly need. This is a wonderful spot for families and just about anyone else heading to Cusco. I will send anyone I know heading to Peru Manuel's way.
Manuel's home was our first experience with Airbnb, and the bar has been set incredibly high! Manuel is the most amicable, charming, and intelligent host one could hope for, and his wife Stephanie and baby Fabio are so warm and welcoming. They are a beautiful family! From the moment we stepped out of the Cusco airport, Manuel was there to greet us and give us a ride to his home. This came as great relief to us because the amount of solicitors and taxi drivers that bombard you at the airport can be very overwhelming. While we were driving Manuel immediately dove into conversation, giving us tips for safety and getting around in the city. When we arrived at his house, he had a tray ready for us to serve us coca tea. It was wonderful! He lead us to our bedroom, which was spotlessly clean and allowed us to rest all afternoon. For our very first meal in Cusco, Manuel and his family took us to an authentic Peruvian restaurant where we tried Cuy (guinea pig) for the first time!
After having two days to explore Cusco on our own, we decided to do an 8-day private tour with Manuel's father, Daniel, who is a licensed tour guide. The tour was an amazing, unforgettable experience! We saw a number of Inca ruins, many of them off the tourist-beaten path, and concluded the tour with Machu Picchu. We saw the Amazon jungle, the deserts of the sacred valley, and stayed in villages perched high up in the Andes mountains. It was an experience like no other! I highly recommend it.
Daniel and Manuel speak very good English so communication is very easy. They have a shower with hot water, and WiFi throughout the house. Stephanie is the most wonderful cook and her breakfasts are delicious! Everything they serve is either grown on their farm or 100% organic. I would highly suggest having their hot chocolate as you will probably never have hot chocolate as delicious as theirs. All in all, they are the most humble people and my girlfriend and I are so thankful that they shared their home with us. Staying with them was the best possible experience one could ask for with Airbnb.
Finding any problems with their home and company is very difficult. However, the only one that comes to mind is that their home is located high up in the mountainside and, with the air so thin from the high altitude, walking up the steps back to their house can be pretty challenging. If you have a disability or just don't like climbing a lot of steps, there are plenty of taxis around the city that can take you up to the house.
