Three bedroom 2nd floor apartment in an owner occupied duplex. Pleasant residential minded area within walking distance to thriving neighborhood center. Like a small town downtown in the city. Walk to everything, local market with organic fresh produce and meat market, post office, medical/pharmacy, library, a variety of churches, lots of parks, bank, coffee shops, book store, gas/service station, cafe and fine dining, tea and wine shops. Walk to the MN State Fair a do not miss event before Labor Day.
Free basement laundry, side patio, table chairs, gas grill, back and front yards.
Interaction with Guests
Generally there is very little. Usually the guests park on the street (very little on street parking pressure) in front of the house and use the front door. We park in the rear of the property and generally use the rear/side door. We may run into one another when you do laundry or on the patio, but my typical feedback is that my upstairs vacation stays hardly know I'm there. Needless to say I do live on the main level unit so if there is anything you ever need just let me know!
There is a bus stop 1 block from our house. About a 20 minute bus ride to downtown Minneapolis, optionally you can then get on the light rail to the airport or Mall of America in Bloomington about 1 hour 10 minutes, or drive there in about 20 minutes.
Other Things to Note
2 night stay minimum. Fee is based on a 6 person occupancy. Additional guest are $20.00 per person per night for which we have a pull out couch in the living room and a side room through the master that can accommodate a pack and play and/or an air mattress (provided upon request). Babies stay free.
Please enjoy the space. I expect you to be practice "quiet enjoyment", i.e. use the space in a way that does not disturb others. There is no smoking in the apartment or inside the building.
You may roam the yard, use the shared outdoor patio and grill. Please ask for what you do not find in the apartment, for directions or fun places to go. Please refrain from pet guests to accommodate those other guests who are pet sensitive. Under 3 night stay requires a $75.00 cleaning fee.
We had a great stay at Robert's duplex. The place was beautiful: very clean and elegantly decorated. We liked the spare and uncluttered feel. Comfortable beds and rooms -- much, much better than being trapped in a hotel. Parking in front was a breeze. Traveling to the convention center was easy by car. It's a quiet neighborhood. There's a convenience store within walking distance. Robert was accommodating and helpful. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!
This was a lovely little place. We managed to cram nine people in here somewhat comfortably. Robert saw to it to provide us with more than enough towels, sheets, and pillows. I would highly recommend this apt/house to a family travelling to Minneapolis/St. Paul.
This was an incredibly pleasant stay -- the space was even bigger and more light and airy than the pictures represented, and our group of 10 slept very comfortably. We loved the neighborhood, and it was amazing that so many great places (convenience/light grocery store, wine shop, cafes, etc) were within walking distance. The kitchen was lovely, and we cooked quite a few meals in it. Robert and his wife were incredibly kind and helpful, and the entire place was spotless when we arrived. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Our stay with Robert was terrific. His place is in fantastic shape -- very well kept and clean, nicely stocked with essentials for all parts of the apartment. My two teenagers especially enjoyed the spacious layout, as well as the appealing decor. Most important, the neighborhood gives you a great combination of walking distance to local coffee shops / bakeries / restaurants, while being perfectly connected to main highways around St. Paul & Mpls. A real find!
We had a great stay - it was exactly as described, clean, quiet, on a beautiful road in a nice area. Couldn't have been happier with it.
loved this place! spacious, quiet, close to cozy st. anthony park shops, stores, post office. perfect place for overseas visitors. fabulous host. everything you need right here whether you will be spending time in mpls or st. paul.
A nice place in a nice neighborhood. Three of us stayed here while visiting St. Paul for a college graduation, and all were happy with the roomy and light living and dining rooms, tree-top views, and comfortable bedrooms and kitchen. Visitors who came by also found the house a good place to relax and talk. It's a short walk to Dunn Brothers and neighborhood shops. The house was very clean and well-equipped and Robert, the one time we saw him, was very nice.
