About this listing
Situated in Glencairn, along the South Peninsula of Cape Town. It is remote enough to be quiet and peaceful, but also within an established seaside community, making it a perfect combination of convenience and tranquil beauty.
We have free wireless internet at all times for guests. We're 15 minutes walk from public transport. Close by are Simon's Town (Penguins), Cape Point (whitesand beaches), Kalk bay (seafood), and whale watching. The City centre is a 45 minute train trip north.
We offer a private, sunny apartment, with one bedroom and another open-plan bedroom that shares space with the kitchen.
The apartment has a private bathroom with toilet & shower. It's perfect for singles, a couple or two, or even a small family.
The apartment has easy private access via a short driveway to the road and parking space. Your entrance is behind a secure wall & gate. Both the bedroom and open plan room have separate lockable doors leading to the driveway & garden.
You will have access to our garden area, which has an outdoor fireplace, a swimming pool and a tranquil Koi pond which you can sit next to while you peacefully read a book.
Interaction with guests
We are available during office hours to assist with any of your needs - 9:30 - 17:00.
Glencairn is nestled along the opposing faces of a stunning valley, between two mountain peaks.
Glencairn beach, a convenient shopping centre and petrol filling station, the train station and the M4 main road are found where the valley opens up and meets with the ocean at False Bay.
The valley is closely surrounded by the various treasures of the South Peninsula: Penguins at Boulders Beach, the roving troops of baboons and other wildlife in and near Cape Point, surfing lessons at Muizenberg beach, and the Semi-precious stone Scratch Patch near Simon’s Town.
Off and on-street parking is available. There is a nearby bus & train station, 15 minutes walk from the apartment. The train station is on the southern suburbs Cape Town line, and spans from Simons Town in the deep South all the way to the City Centre. Uber and other private taxi services are also available in the area.
Other things to note
Glencairn sits on the slope of a mountain, so there are steps and walkways on the property which might not be very friendly for wheelchairs.
Cars are parked on a sloped road therefore should have a working hand-brake!
Children are allowed, but adult supervision is required in the pool area and garden. There is a large (friendly) dog on the property, so children must be supervised at all times.
Smoking is allowed outside.
There are really nice, friendly neighbours, so noise is to please be kept relatively low, and please no loud noise after 23h00.
Cancel up to 24 hours before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
I was born and raised in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, in a little township 5 km from the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. I’m a father of two, entrepreneur, animal lover and nature loving person. I love meeting extraordinary people and traveling.
I moved to Cape Town 8 years back and fell in love with the gorgeous, majestic mountains and sea of the Southern Cape Peninsula. At the moment, I’m managing this beautiful, comfortable and relaxing self catering home that provides luxurious accommodation for visitors to our beautiful corner of the world.
Outside of work I’m a bit of an all-rounder with an interest in music and a knack for arts and crafts, physical fitness and any DIY job big or small. I surround myself with things that inspire me. If there is one thing I don’t lack it is ambition.
My motto is “kufa kwemurume kubuda ura” (what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger).
