The space

We offer a private, sunny apartment, with one bedroom and another open-plan bedroom that shares space with the kitchen.

The apartment has a private bathroom with toilet & shower. It's perfect for singles, a couple or two, or even a small family.

Guest access

The apartment has easy private access via a short driveway to the road and parking space. Your entrance is behind a secure wall & gate. Both the bedroom and open plan room have separate lockable doors leading to the driveway & garden.

You will have access to our garden area, which has an outdoor fireplace, a swimming pool and a tranquil Koi pond which you can sit next to while you peacefully read a book.

Interaction with guests

We are available during office hours to assist with any of your needs - 9:30 - 17:00.

The neighborhood

Glencairn is nestled along the opposing faces of a stunning valley, between two mountain peaks.

Glencairn beach, a convenient shopping centre and petrol filling station, the train station and the M4 main road are found where the valley opens up and meets with the ocean at False Bay.

The valley is closely surrounded by the various treasures of the South Peninsula: Penguins at Boulders Beach, the roving troops of baboons and other wildlife in and near Cape Point, surfing lessons at Muizenberg beach, and the Semi-precious stone Scratch Patch near Simon’s Town.

Getting around

Off and on-street parking is available. There is a nearby bus & train station, 15 minutes walk from the apartment. The train station is on the southern suburbs Cape Town line, and spans from Simons Town in the deep South all the way to the City Centre. Uber and other private taxi services are also available in the area.

Other things to note

Glencairn sits on the slope of a mountain, so there are steps and walkways on the property which might not be very friendly for wheelchairs.

Cars are parked on a sloped road therefore should have a working hand-brake!

There is a great pool for swimming and the beach and tidal pool is only 5 minutes away. The hosts Shepherd and Adele were very warm and welcoming and provided off-street parking for my car. I have no complaints and I would recommend to others as it is central and the koi ponds are a great place to sit and read a book!

Shpeherd's place was really nice. Just 10 minutes driving to the city center. The house has great views from the mountain and a cool swimmingpool. It was very comfortable to stay here, the appartment has everything needed, including a tv with a lot of dvd's...very cool. Shepherd was a superhost and recommended us nice restaurants. For sure, we would repeat if we're back.

Steve's Abri was a lovely place to start our Cape Town vacation. Phil helped direct us to the property when our satnav failed, talked us through everything and even helped us find somewhere to get some dinner. the property is small but cosy. only negative point to make is that the area of glencairn is pretty quiet so there's no delivery to speak of, but there are two nice eating places close by one of which did take out. the property has some pretty steep slopes so if youre not super mobile it may not be suitable and our toddler loved opening all the cupboards. for the money this was a great place to stay and served our needs just great. Happy to recommend.

I was born and raised in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, in a little township 5 km from the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. I’m a father of two, entrepreneur, animal lover and nature loving person. I love meeting extraordinary people and traveling.

I moved to Cape Town 8 years back and fell in love with the gorgeous, majestic mountains and sea of the Southern Cape Peninsula. At the moment, I’m managing this beautiful, comfortable and relaxing self catering home that provides luxurious accommodation for visitors to our beautiful corner of the world.

Outside of work I’m a bit of an all-rounder with an interest in music and a knack for arts and crafts, physical fitness and any DIY job big or small. I surround myself with things that inspire me. If there is one thing I don’t lack it is ambition.

My motto is “kufa kwemurume kubuda ura” (what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger).
