The Space

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Almost a year in, and our five star rating is going strong! Just an FYI - once you submit an inquiry/reservation, we tend to approve quickly and therefore our availability can go fast. First to reserve, first served ;)

Our home is quiet, creative, queer friendly and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience.

With a comfortable full-size bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace (wood provided), and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and comfortable seating. Our home is full of plants and art from around the world, and we love meeting new people. We also have a fully functioning printmaking studio on the premises. No pets/Allergen free!

The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from our front door. NOT an easy place to get bored!

Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise.

All in all, we're two great friends who love living together, and are excited to share our home with fellow travelers!

We do not currently accept 'night of' reservations. Please book in advance.

  • We stayed for 2 nights at Adam's and Natalies place. We didn't get to meet Adam but Natalie was very friendly and helpful. She had a few good recommendations for us. The room was nice and clean. Situated near Mississippi Av, a cool 'alternative' street with shops and restaurants. The lightrail took us to downtown in no time. We enjoyed our stay.

  • We had a wonderful stay with Natalie and Adam! They are both such kind people and thoughtful hosts. We loved the chances we had to chat and see the city through their eyes a bit. And they've crafted this incredibly beautiful space filled with light and art, found and handcrafted treasures...we felt so fortunate to be surrounded by so much inspiration. The location was perfect for us. The neighborhood was lush with trees and blooms, charming historic houses, and the house a was quick walk to so many truly fantastic restaurants, shops, galleries...not to mention an impressive historic rose garden.

  • Natalie and Adam were great hosts! My boyfriend and I rarely saw them, but when we did, they were super friendly and easy to talk to. The place itself was amazing! It is exactly as pictured, very clean, decorative, and the bed was super comfy. The location is right next to Mississippi and there is so much to do there even late at night. The bus also picks up right down the street from the house, which was super convenient for going anywhere (runs every 15 minutes too!). It's easy to feel right at home here, and they even provided breakfast and tea for the mornings, which was great. All in all, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portland. Thanks Natalie and Adam!!

  • Beautiful house in a great location! The Mississippi and Williams Street districts are really cool, walkable areas of Portland. The public transportation system was great - I downloaded the trimet app and was able to find out how to get everywhere. I didn't have a chance to meet Adam and Natalie during my stay, but their house and yard put together is fantastic and they were very responsive via airbnb messages with tips on how to get there and what to do. There is only one bathroom so be prepared to wait if someone is using it!

  • The space looks exactly like it does in the pictures. A beautiful, bright, and exquisitely decorated home. The space has everything you need including a very comfortable bed. It was right next to Mississippi Street that had plenty of things going on but far enough away to not be bothered by any of it when it's time to go home. The MAX was very close and I spent my days in the city and nights on Mississippi street with out any problems.

Natalie and Adam were the perfect hosts. Although I didn't see them much (because I was out exploring and they seem to be busy) they were super friendly and very easy to talk to. They gave me great suggestions on things to check out based on what I was interested in. Couldn't ask for more than the experience these two offered.

Natalie - At-risk youth mentor: Adam - Artist, Deschutes Brewery
Adam and Natalie met in college about ten years ago and have remained close ever since! Taurus's Unite! Hey there! I'm Adam. I'm 32, gay, an artist and avid soccer player. I've lived in Portland on and off for six years now and love this city more every day. With a background in the creative non-profit world, I also focus quite a bit on my own artwork - printmaking and mixed-media collage. In addition, I work part-time at the amazing Deschutes Brewery, love to canoe, play soccer/tennis, hike, cook, drink wine/cider, have fires and travel. I was a foreign exchange student in Spain, have lived in Alaska and Hawaii, and have frequently traveled to Mexico, Central America and Cuba. Hey! I'm Natalie. I'm 30 and a Portland native. I feel lucky to have grown up in such a beautiful area however I love to travel and try to go on adventures whenever I can. I am interested in design, cooking, studio time, hiking, and time with people who inspire me! I work at a non-profit mentoring program for at-risk youth. We both love meeting new people and can give lots of pointers about discovering the unique spirit of Portland. That said, we're definitely busy people, and will work best with Airbnb'ers who have a sense of independence and a willingness to stay flexible!
