If this room is not avaialable for your desired dates, please check out this room
Which is the same size just has its own private bathroom
Also please Note: There is a Cat on the premises,
The room was big enough for four people. Jimmy is a cool guy. And it's convenient to be staying in the City, next to a subway station, at a cheap price. Perfect for young travellers who want to go out and have fun in New York.
Jimmy was super friendly and chill. It was very relaxed and there was a lot of space, and the kitchen was available too. Host was kind enough to leave shampoo in the bathroom which was very clean and well kept. The beds were made, the room was clean and there's a super friendly cat!
Jimmy is a very nice host. We arrived pretty late in the night and he waited for us until we got there. The room is cozy. It has an AC, a sofa, three mattress and a big walk-in closet. We had only two people but the room can definitely fit 3 people at the same time. Transportation is very easy. Only 1 minute walk to the Dyckman Station of the No.1 train. Finding a free parking at night might be a little bit difficult. You may want to occupy a spot in the day and use public transportation instead to travel around the city.
Déçu par cette location. La photo montrée ne correspond pas à la réalité. Pas de lit. Le matelas est posé sur le sol. Le drap est usé et troué.
Jimmy was so friendly with us, he was a nice host. The room was nice as well, but the only thing was that outside the room was smelling bad (Like cat) Otherwise everything was perfect. I would definitely come back again.
I have requested a refund within 24 hours of the stay.
I was not satisfied with the place and had to shift to a hotel nearby.
I have requested the refund using the resolution tool and have written to the host citing the reasons not to stay, but have not heard back from the host. Kindly help me process the refund / or with hold payment.
Hoping to hear from Air Bnb
Hôtel très gentil et à l'écoute des personnes qui logent chez lui. Il n'hésite pas à donner un coup de main quand on lui demande. La proximité de la station de métro est un plus. Très bon séjour.
It was a great room! we stayed for one night and Jimmy was a great host! He is very nice but not overly nice to the point where it is uncomfortable which I had with my last airbnb experience.. he's gives you the privacy you need to feel like your at home. I def recommend this room to anyone searching for an affordable stay.
Jimmy's great and the place is great. It's very close to the 1 train, which is very reliable. A little farther from the A train.
So the few times I actually met him during my three week stay, Jimmy seemed like a decent enough person. Just that his name is not Jimmy. It's Nader. And also the picture is not actually him, that's just a marketing ploy.
It is hard to say whether the appartment is just run down and shabby or actually dirty. I've seen Nader clean it when he returned after about two weeks of my stay, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It's just an old, run-down appartment in an equally old, run-down appartment complex, in a very, very shabby neighbourhood. The people there were nice enough for the most part, it's just not a place where you want to be out alone after dark. Like, even less than in the rest of the city.
It's in the northernmost part of Manhattan, and getting downtown takes about 45 minutes with the 1 train, which is just two blocks down from the appartment. The A train is also close-by.
The place is also far from quiet. In fact, there is a lot of street noises to be heard at night, and a school just across the building that gets noisy in the morning. Also, the heating system despererately needs an exorcism; not controllable from the appartment, sounding like it might blow up any time and actually OVERHEATING a room to the extent that you have to keep a window open at all times while it is 20°F/-10°C outside. Not an easy task.
Also forget everything about a view from the windows; at least from this room, all I could see were other parts of the appartment complex. Or into other appartments. The room also has nothing but see-through flowy curtains, which made me feel uncomfortable while changing. Which I didn't do in the bathroom, because I was a) avoiding it due to dubious state of cleanliness, or b) it was occupied by other guests. A lot. And there were other guests every few days.
So while Nader was out during the first half of my stay, the appartment was very, very dirty, as is to be expected when nobody's around to clean. When he was around, he was usually quiet and kept to himself, and cleaned up, I think, so there's nothing against him personally as a host. It's just that the appartment itself sucks. I guess you're gonna get your money's worth considering this is still (barely) Manhattan, but personally, I would not stay there again.
