The Space

The apartment is ideally located in the centre of trastevere one of the most unique neighbourhood in rome, it is located on the Piazza san cosimato, where you can find many restaurants and cafes' , a local fruit and vegetable market and various local shops.
The apartment consists of entrance, living room, kitchen, one bathroom and 2 private double bedrooms.
It is nicely and tastefully decorated with a mix of antique and modern taste, it has been recently renovated,
The apartment has independent heating in the whole place and both bedrooms have air conditioning, which is really needed during the summer in rome it can get really hot!
The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook, it also has a dish washer while a small washing machine is placed in the bathroom.
The bathroom is small but very nice and it has a shower that has been recently improved with a new shower cabin that allows more space than before
We have a TV with italian channels and some international ones, there is a DVD player with a small selection of movies that are left for your entertainment
We have just installed a new internet connection with 20 mega which is as fast as you can possibly need and it can load up to 5 items !!!
Trastevere is a very interesting and caracteristic neighbourhood and you are at walking distance form most historical sites, like piazza Navona, Campo dei fiori and Piazza Venezia, the vatican is also only 15 minutes walk from location.
You can connect from viale trastevere with tram n.8 to piazza Argentina where most of the buses are stopping to connect you with the rest of the city
Even if you are close to the center you can enjoy a more quiet neighborhood which is not so crowded all day long like most historical sites, so you can also have a quiet and romantic walk along the river tevere !!!
The neighborhood is really unique and friendly, one of the most exquisite squares in trastevere is just 2 minutes walk from the apartment, with the amazing church s.Maria In trastevere., try to have a coffe looking at the church across the square with its gold mosaique it's a great experience!!
On sunday morning instead a visit to the local flee market Porta Portese is a must and a real unique experience, great finds !!
checking in after 8 pm is required an extra of 25 euros
Please try to be on time when we arrange a check in cause there will be a person specially there for you waiting, thanks for your consideration!!

  • Communication leading up,to the reservation and key collection was excellent. The woman who met us at the apartment was very well meaning but she does not speak a lot of English which can be awkward. However, we were able to obtain the important facts. The apartment is super clean and well equipped. Trastevere is wonderful, you can walk everywhere from there . It's full,of restaurants and bars and is beautiful at night. Transport to the airport is around the corner for 8 Euro. Very happy we stayed here and in this apartment , very highly recommend it and if you are considering it, I say you've found the one!

  • Ilaria's apartment was the perfect place for my mom, brother and I to start a holiday vacation in. The location was fantastic – within very close walking distance to many restaurants in Trastevere. We actually bought Roma Passes, but didn’t end up using them during the 4 days we were in Rome because we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment itself was equipped with all of the necessary items and we were pleasantly surprised that it was bigger than it appeared in the photos. When we arrived, we were lucky to meet a neighbor who spoke English, which was helpful as the woman who greeted us and explained the details of the apartment spoke limited English. We had no problems with neighborhood noise as previously commented, but that might have also been due to the time of year. All in all, this was a great experience and I would highly recommend this apartment.

  • Just back from 2 weeks in Rome, this apartment was perfect for me...needed 2 bedrooms, a workable kitchen, fast and reliable internet service all in a quiet, residential area in Trastevere. I was able to shop for any type of food, fresh from the daily open air market right downstairs in Piazza San Cosimato, small shops for meat and cheese and bread and (email hidden)d an upscale Conad supermarket that's 3 blocks away underneath the Oviesse department store on Viale Trastevere. The apartment was super clean, all the appliances work well, the beds were comfy, the linens and towels were stylish as were apartments accessories. The television works well, the washing machine is fine for light laundry. The building is kept clean, has a locked front door with working intercom and buzzer. The apartment faces the large, quiet, interior courtyard, there are several hours of direct sunlight and plenty of indirect light during the day. There is an outside wire that extends along the length of the apartment for hanging laundry to dry. This is a family building with real people, children playing in the playground across the street, teenagers flirting on friday afternoons, dogs catching sticks...the tourist crowds aren't far away, you can be in the thick of it in only 10 minutes.
I would love to stay in Ilaria's apartment again.

  • Even though Illaria was not available, she sent us emails with the arrangements and check-in went smoothly. The apartment was comfortable and clean, and the two bedrooms were roomy. We did not experience any problems with the neighbours, in fact, when we met the next door neighbour she was delightful. The area is a little too far to walk every day to the main tourist attractions in Rome, however, Tram 8 is very convenient, which takes you into Piazza Venezia in about 10 minutes. On departure, we also caught Tram 8 to Trastevere train station (5 minutes the other way) with trains departing every 30 minutes to the Rome Airport, and takes only 30 minutes. If you buy a travel card for the period of time you are in Rome, you can travel on all the buses and trams. It is very inexpensive and much cheaper than taxis.

  • The check in and check out process was a little difficult. For checking in we were actually sent the wrong address. Ilaria herself is not there, and the lady who arranges the apartment was an hour late. So it was quite a stressful beginning. We were also told that we had to check out by 10, which was a bit too early but we were fine with it. The morning of check out the time then changed twice, fortunately to much later in the day, but we had to change our plans. Ilaria did call us to tell us about the changes which was good of her.

That said the apartment is really lovely. It doesn't get much day light as it's windows face on to a courtyard, but we were barely there during the day so that didn't matter. We had not one peep from the neighbours as has been mentioned on other reviews. It's clean and spacious, really well decorated and the bedrooms are nice and it's completely quiet at night. The welcome basket of fruit, milk and coffee was a lovely touch. The area of Trastevere is a brilliant and lively area to stay in, we were so glad we chose it over the more touristy hotels. I would stay here again, now that I know where it is! Much better than a hotel.
    Thanks Ilaria for having us.

    Response from Ilaria:

Unfortunately the checking in was 1 hour late because there was a mistake in the address on my account, thanks to this problem I could find out and correct it.... so now there is no problem any (website hidden) for the checking out... I would like to explain why the time changed. Previously Emma asked me if it was possible to check out later than 12 pm. I said no because I had guest checking in the same day. When these guests suddenly contacted me to tell me they were late and were not arriving until the evening, I personally contacted Emma to tell her she could stay longer as she previously asked. I actually thought of doing her a courtesy and not intending on spoiling her plans

  • Our family of four stayed at Ilaria's apartment for three nights. The apartment is very pretty with comfortable bedrooms, lovely beds and a well fitted kitchen. Just five minutes walk takes you into the lovely by-lanes of trastevere - full of cafes, trattorias and cute little shops.

  • Very nice, fully equipped 2 bedroom apartment in a great location. This was our last of 4 stops in Italy, in Florence, Venice and Cinque Terre, we stayed in hotels. Our stay in this lovely apartment made us wish we had done the airbnb thing at the other destinations. It really makes you feel a part of the country. The surroundings were so pleasant that we even opted to cook in a couple of times. I was charmed by the beautiful built in painted porcelain dish drainer in the kitchen and the decorative tiles in the bathroom. Having coffee, olive oil and spices available to us was much appreciated.

  • This apartment is great, I have been many times visiting Rome and I this is the best place I have been so far. Clean and well decorated, the check in was smooth and easy, and the place is very tidy and practiv in every sense. The internet is working perfectly. There is even a good selevtion of dvds!!
The area is in the middle of trastevere and you can walk to may restaurants and caffe, but luckily is in a nice square outside the Roman movida so it's quiet at night...
Yes, the downstairs neighbors are rude and yell at you but... this is part of Rome and I have seen that happening in the street many times so it must be part of their customs, in the end can be funny experience too!!!
